Applied last Sunday (match to Qantas Plat), they replied overnight, asking for image of passport, Elite status approved Overnight again! Very impressive.

You have to take an international TK flight to retain the status after 4 months.

Gave it a go purely to see and no go for me as VA Gold.

Response :

"Please be informed that only Star Alliance (Gold), Skyteam (Elite Plus), Oneworld (Emerald), Emirates (Gold - Platinum), Etihad (Gold -Platinum) and El Al (Platinum - Top Platinum) members have an opportunity for Status Match.

Therefore, we are sorry for that we are unable to meet your demand positively."

I assume an international flight would be any into Eruope or local Middle East?

I've been thinking of matching to them and in Europe in August, so might have to do this...

TK is a *A member so I don't see purpose of them matching status of another member airline.
