You don't have to go too far Red Roo... recently saw a Qantas staff member driving an Qantas Engineering dual-cab ute airside in front of SYD T3 while talking on the phone.

Thanks I couldn't check at work given the blocking of UTube. Since this was the first time (a couple of months later) I've seen the ocker safety video I wasn't sure if another had been released. The crew seemed to cope ok with the changed order of each element of the video.

VH-VXO had the new video this morning.

VH-VXP with the old one last week.

Is there any system to the roll out of the new video?

2 sectors over the weekend on mainline (73H/332 old config) and still old video. a bit annoying tbh

surely it's load a tape with the monthly entertainment updates and be done fleetwide?! (yes I understand variations of the safety video by fleet type/config/dom/int but still it can't be that hard).

What is annoying is that like most QF changes announced to product/config etc (unlike FF policy "enhancements" ) they are announced and take seemingly forever to be rolled out.

It's not like this is a massive cabin refit or installing wifi.....

Typically fly QantasLink but have had four flights this weekend with Qantas.

1x A332 (Refurb) - Old Video
1x 738 (BSI/Seatback IFE) - New Video
2x 738 (Refurb/QStreaming) - Old Video

Unfortunately didn't get to see the video on the one flight (due to being in row 1), but it did seem to run for about half the time as the version on YouTube. In fact, it seemed a bit too rushed as the flight attendant had trouble keeping up with the instructions for putting on the life jacket.

The new video has a different order for the items. Old one was Seat Belt, Brace positions, exits, oxygen, Life jacket. New one is something like seat belt lifejacket, exits, brace position, oxygen.

Having different version on various aircraft can't help for crew trying to keep up.

Still a little random on getting the new video on the 737s, but getting more consistent.

After a few viewin's now. I really think they shoulda used "goin' to the dunny" instead of "goin' to the toilet". Toilet just stands out against the all the dropped "g"s and other word endin's.

Pretty sure my recent in seat IFE 737s had the new version. Jetconnect flights were the old version.

Basically devices getting smaller, easier to lose. Particular problem with items slipping on new business seats on certain aircraft. I assumed she meant the A330 refurbs. We were on a 737 at the time.

Cool. I thought that could only be about the bigger, lay flat J seats. Perhaps 737 J. But hard to see an issue for Y.

Yeah I've heard about some airlines cautioning passengers in business and first against operating (reclining) their seats when they seem to have lost their phone, as the phone might have fallen on to the seat tracks and any seat movement might then chew it up.

This wasn't stated but I'm guessing as well you don't want someone reaching into a seat and operating the recline function...
