Hi All,

I am sending my wife back to New Zealand for a mid-year break. I will be upgrading her Flexi Fare to Business on the Brisbane to Christchurch leg (onto Nelson) but wasn't sure if she could get access to the AirNZ lounge upon arrival into Christchurch. I know she will have access to the lounge in Brisbane. She is only a Red Velocity member due to family pooling.

The connecting flight to nelson is on a washing machine with wings so no business class available. They just book this one as economy.

Anyone know whether getting into the lounge in Christchurch post business class flight is possible and or if not, any way of doing this?

Cheers,

LK

You can always get her to ask and find what they say, but I doubt the access rules will permit entry.

I agree with serfty.
The answer should be no, as class of service of inbound flight will not allow NZ lounge access on the connecting flight.
She should prepare to be disappointed I think.

The flights to Nelson are from that odd non-secure area which only has a small seating area as a lounge. It is probably not worth the trouble to go into the main lounge (which is pretty nice) anyway.

FWIW - Nelson is a pretty little place to visit.

Thanks team.

I end up booking with Emirates at half the cost of the VA flights. I will book her the Emperor Lounge in Auckland for both of her stop overs. She is pretty happy that she gets to fly in the A380 instead of the usual 737's.

i managed to sweet talk my way into the AUK domestic lounge after arriving on international flight. Was a bit of a walk from intl to domestic terminal. I was told that they don't normally allow arrival entry but she made an exception - with only showing my VA plat card.
