Re: First LHR-DXB QFA380- Best Lounge @ LHR?

Will do :D

I'm guessing that QF check-in only opens 3 hours prior? To maximize hopping time of course ;)

I'm on QF10 in a couple of weeks and can't recall off the top of my head. I think it's 4 hours but will ask at check-in.

LHR for QF2 opens 5 hours prior. Well it did Tuesday when I flew and got to the airport early.

Spent my time In the BA lounge for some peace and quiet- the helpful Qantas staff at check in told me there was about 5 EK flights leaving and the lounge would be super busy.

My first F class experience- i only wish that flight was longer! Such heavenly sleep at 35000ft....

I have been to the new EK lounge, its the best lounge at T3. Don't bother with the other choices unless you have heaps of time.

BA has a separate dining area for passengers flying in F. When T5 opened it ceased to have a dedicated F menu and reverted to the standard menu throughout the lounge. I am not sure what the current situation is because BA has moved some long haul flights back to T3, so if you are in BA F it is a markedly different experience compared to T5 which has the CCR. (You'd hope that BA would have at least improved the dining room experience at T3.) It has been a while since I flew QF and through T3 but my preference was The BA F Lounge - a bit more space and a very good wine and spirits collection.
