Baggage allowance says case restricted to 32kgs, I'm confused if allowed more in one case is it then only one bag @ 32kgs? I've been travelling to states with 2 bags allowed if one wanted, can't work this out.

QF limit the absolute weight of each piece of checked luggage to a maximum of 32kgs for OSH (WSH) issues.

The allowance to LHR is a weight based system, so you will as a SG will have a minumum of 46kg in Y, 56kg in Y+ or J and 66kg in F. No single piece in this allowance can go over 32kgs.

The allowance for the States is a piece based system, so you are not able to have more pieces than the number of pieces stated in your allowance, even if the bags did not go over your total weight allowance.

Thank you again, Mannej, I feel like a newbie, I'm in PE, does it mean I get 2 cases, one at 32kgs, smaller bag 23kgs. I don't understand why I'm being so dense.

No, it means that no single piece can be over 32kgs. It is not a piece based system so you are not limited to 2 cases.
