QF availability on AA

Trying to use some AA miles before the March devaluation on a MEL-HKG booking later in the year. QFF portal shows that QF29 is bookable, as well as the 0800 CX service, but according to AA only the CX flight is available.

Does QF show better availability to its own members than to AA? Mind you I'm searching as a QF Gold so I didn't think I'd see anything more than what AA would.

Yes it does show more availability based on status
 
Are you calling AA in the US or Australia? If the former, try the latter. For whatever reason there are dozens of reports on FlyerTalk of AA US not seeing EY availability when EY shows it. So people call AA in Australia who can see it. I reckon that call centre is going to be run off its feet in the next 10 weeks.
 
If expertflyer (POS USA) shows availability then it is generally bookable on AA.com.
