Hi all,

Not sure if this has posted before but after having to call the redemption department I've been able to figure out the following sequence that you can save in your contacts for faster calling.

0293500203,,,,,1,,MEMBERSHIPNUMBER,,,PIN,,1,,2

But from MEL that would be 02 ...... - not sure what you are getting at here?

Yes, just add 02 in front.

Instead of waiting, selecting the options and keying in your details every time you call you can just save the sequence in your contacts and the phone will pause at the right sections and dial in your membership number and PIN.

Are you sure about this? What type of phone are you using?

Good idea. The use of "," as a pause was always useful setting up dial-up modems, I hadn't realised it would see light again.

It seems thought the comma is not supported on iphone number keypad. The workaround is to 'copy' a set of three from another app (I used Notes) then paste into the number sequence.

Actually, it was easier to just create the entire sequence in Notes and past that into the Contact record..

Doesn't work with my iPhone 5S and I too had to call KF this morn to cancel an F/Suites redemption.

I'm also using an iPhone 5s. I have just tried it again and it works and sends me right to the redemption department without me having to selecting any menu options or keying in my details.

When you create a new contact make sure copy the whole sequence and when you replacing it with your membership and PIN make sure you leave the exact number of commas as they act as the pauses needed.

0293500203,,,,,1,,YOURMEMBERSHIPNUMBER,,,YOURPIN,,1,,2

So basically the above is doing:
- Calling 0293500203
- A long pause for the IVR to finish the first part
- Pressing 1 for English and pausing
- Sending your membership number and pausing
- Sending your PIN and pausing
- Pressing 1 for Flight Bookings or Account Enquiries
- Pressing 2 for Award Bookings

Damn you are correct - it worked - I had 6 commas instead of 5 - man that is hilarious.

BUT - it takes all the fun out of calling KF - I always race myself - I try to get time down to 38sec or less before recording tells me - "Please hold the line while I transfer you to...................".

Glad it worked :-)

You should be able to do it with the iPhone keypad or when adding/editing a contact;

Dial a soft pause: Tap and hold * when you dial. When you edit a contact number, tap +*#, then tap "pause." (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4515)

Thanks to Liski for the original work on this.

Over the past few months, the SQ KF contact number has changed as did the delays and options. Finally had the time and a multi-sector partner redemption to make all enough calls to get the revised sequencing. I've found the following to work.

0282281188,,,,,,,,,,,YOURMEMBERSHIPNUMBER#,,YOURPIN#

So basically the above is doing:
- Calling 0282281188
- A long pause for the IVR to finish the first part
- Sending your membership number and now requiring a hash at the end, then pausing
- Sending your PIN and now requiring a hash at the end, then pausing

You can then select from the menu.....

Happy travels.

I have rung SQ twice this week on 02 8228 1188 and only had to enter my "six digit password".

After that I am then given the number of Points I have available.

No membership number required

Yes I had the PIN only several times - last 5 or 6 times back to inputting KF number - its no biggie

That would be good, would mean they are using the incoming number to first identify you and then asking to confirm the PIN, that is smart but a little less secure.
