Despite a search, I can't seem to find whether it might be possible to check in early for QF62 NRT - BNE? It is an evening departure and was hoping for a mid afternoon check in. Will have luggage to check in which I know makes it difficult. I am QF platinum so can use the first class check in if there is such a thing in NRT?

Like many things in Japan the 3 hour check in time is strictly adhered to.
 
Is there a dedicated check in area for first class, a bit like Changi that I should look out for, or is it just the standard counter based service?

The premium check in area at SIN is operated by SATS and is used for most airline using SATS services at SIN. There is nothing like it at NRT. It's been a while since I checked in for a flight from NRT (have arrived at NRT a number of times, but all my TYO departures for the last 3 years have been from HND), but I don't recall seeing anything even like the premium desks set ups like AA has at JFK, BA at LHR or EK/QF at DXB. Just normal counters with F/J signage.
 
Definitely no separate F checkins at NRT.We flew JAL F out of NRT at the end of September.Their F checkin was next to the J counters.Nothing special.
Same with AA having flown F out of NRT several times.

Can you check in earlier than 3hrs for international JAL flights at NRT?
 
No it was 3 hours for our flight.F opened about 3.10 before flight.
We were on one of the first flights out so maybe if later in the day and checkin is open you may get away with it.
