There is something so sweet, yet so cringeworthy about this. I can't decide which one.

On one hand, it's a good reminder of what it's like for those on the outside of FF-land (albeit with an American bent). On the other, I'd imagine a reasonable chunk of The Atlantic's readership (where the story came from) would know their way around a premium cabin and comes off as a bit condescending.

At least it's better than these two clowns:

Jetstar: Jodi Lee, WIN TV reporter, angry with treatment she got from airline

Refreshingly unusual to read about pointy end travel by someone with that attitude!

I'm a millennial (barely) and I was exactly like this on my first business class flight a couple of months ago (from MEL-PER - yes, lame I know). I'm pretty sure my partner put me on *ignore* after the tenth photo of the QF business suite from yet another new angle...
I've now got several domestic and international J trips in 2016 to look forward to. I hope I never lose the buzz!

It's cringeworthy and delightfully summed up amongst the other silly season stories by mumbrella
SBS should know better I think

You may have noticed, we kiwis have stopped claiming Rusty as one of our own.
In fairness, he is probably a good guy if you get to know him, like a lot of the entitled celebrity types, we only get to hear about the negatives.
So I'm going to cut him a little slack.......just a little mind you.
I don't know how wealthy he really is, but sometimes I wonder why he doesn't to a "sir Rob Jones" and buy his own plane !
