The FB/EY tie up is interesting - if I understand the documents correctly - once the [-]honeymoon[/-]promotional period is over, a FB member will earn 1 EY 'tier point' AND 1 FB point per $ spend. (Max 2.5K EY per calendar month)

The FB's can then be transferred to EY at 10K to 4K - so effective earn can be 0.4 EY per $.

That will shake up anything QF and EDR were negotiating.

Special offer till 31st December with Flybuys and EY.

When you link your flybuys and Etihad Guest memberships you will be able to:

  • Earn 3 Etihad Guest tier miles for every $1 spent at Coles Supermarkets, Coles Online, Coles Express, Liquorland and First Choice.[SUP]3[/SUP]
Plus you will be able to:

  • Collect 5 flybuys point for every $1 spent on the purchase of an Etihad Airways flight ticket[SUP]2[/SUP]
  • Redeem 10,000 flybuys points for 4000 Etihad Guest miles[SUP]4[/SUP]
These exclusive offers are for a limited time only! From the 31 December 2015 you will collect the standard offer of 1 Etihad Guest tier miles for every $1 spent,[SUP]3[/SUP] and 1x flybuys points for every $1 spent on Etihad Airways flight tickets.[SUP]2[/SUP] More special offers will be available from time to time so keep looking out for the flybuys and Etihad emails!

I can't see them aligning with Aldi, tbh. The positioning wouldn't align well with Qantas' premium, full-service brand.

But, I can see that David Jones could...

Although David Jones are already aligned to Qantas with their store and credit cards linked to QFF.

Oh I don't know, Aldi is German. BMW, Meile, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, Lufthansa, Aldi...you can see where I am going with this? ;)

Mrs Bodie and I are lucky we have both Coles and Woolies at our local shopping centre. Like others, We have both flybuys and Everyday Rewards.

Same here, both supermarkets in the same shopping centre, and I have both Flybuys and EDR. If Woolies cut Qantas loose, it won't make any difference to me - I don't usually do large shops at Woolies, and to be honest, I only took up the QFF membership because it was free to join through EDR. We do all our flying with VA or their partners, we don't (and won't) fly Qantas - after Mr Jurahn's experience in working for them as a contractor, he refuses to ever fly with QF - so no chance of racking up enough QFF points to do anything with other than the odd gift card. I use Flybuys for the $off shopping when I get enough points, and would be more than happy if EDR was restructured to offer something similar.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Reports suggest there will be some sort of announcement on Sunday. I'm guessing this will affect the types of targeted offers which are sent out on Sunday and become active from Monday to Thursday. Only one family member received a weekend offer so I'm hoping the other family members get offers for next week.

ACA is going to do a report tonight on the new WW program. Hints of price specials for certain products.

They didn't really expand upon the ad in the segment. However they did note it was hard to redeem points for flights. They didn't even mention the fuel fines.

Plus they mentioned WW paid QFF $80 million for the points.

So it looks like WW is going towards more an American supermarket type rewards card.

Ah I must have missed it then. Guess we'll find out on Sunday how much simpler and fairer EDR can become.

"Enhanced" Is the word your looking for concerning FF programmes ;)
