Hello
I wonder if anyone can answer the question of WiFly internet in First Class with Etihad.
Originally I was of the understanding that it was complimentary in First and on my flight BNE-AUH (EY485 on 787-9)I received a complimentary log in code.
However on my next sector (again in First) AUG-CDG (EY37 on A340-600) I asked the flight attendant about the password for internet and she looked at me like I was trying to sell her human slaves on the black market and told me that you always have to pay for it.

The cost is reasonable so I paid it but it is more an issue of product consistency.
So does anyone know....is it complimentary? is it only complimentary on specific sectors or aircraft type?

From my understanding it's not free anymore. Which I think is pretty poor for F. They still give out a welcome card saying it's free even though it isn't!

As above, it used to be free but is no longer.

The crew do have free cards which they can hand out at their discretion.

I was on EY 485 on the 2nd Sep and was given free WiFi card soon as I sat down??. Got the free WiFi card on the way back on EY485. I never asked for it, never used it, but it was offered.

Given free code in J on EY485 from BNE AUH 11/9 but couldn't get it to work despite quite specific instructions. Nothing on legs AUH IST or CDG AUH AUH SYD on return 4-5/10.

Not free last week on the A380, F apartment (which I found a bit disappointing!!). About US$11 for 2 hours - pro rate cheaper for longer periods. I found the speed quite OK for web browsing and e-mailing, including attachments.

I didn't try it, but the sheet that explains the wi-fi procedure also suggested you can make GSM phone calls. Definitely a retrograde step!!

I find it bizarre that when theyre charging $10,000+ for the fare that they expect F pax to pay a fee on top of that for wifi. Why not roll it into the fare cost? Not everyone is going to use it+!
