No concern - fuel is half price or less than it was a while ago. And possible need to fill seats as the rising AUD makes overseas travel less appealing.

Emirates sale email announced their sale fares and QF appear to be matching with a flash sale. I have booked QF for May 2016 !! Too good to miss.

Bestjet.com are selling these fares cheaper - SYD-SIN only $518.

The Qantas Price Promise accepts bestjet.com (or bestjet.com.au). The fare when I looked on bestjet.com was $514 and $550 on Qantas. So Qantas will refund $36 and award 1,000 points. I much prefer to book directly with Qantas.

Pity there was such a tight time frame for this sale. It did not allow for co-ordination of visits to allow an AFF get-together.
