I never know what to say with these kinds of competitions. Do you try and be funny (some reference to hopping about in a kangaroo)? Or do you make up some soppy story about a family member's illness or that you'll sell the tickets for charity...etc? Maybe you'll connect from Tokyo to Africa and build some schools? Or do you just be honest and say "It would be fun."

Or maybe I'm just not particularly creative. :)

My understanding is that the "25 words or less" is used to avoid the need to apply for a permit to run a lottery/competition ie LTPS number disclaimer etc. and all the red tape and $$$ this involves. The idea being that chance has nothing to do with winning. The best/most appropriate entries are judged. In reality, names are drawn out of a hat.

You'd think so. They'd probably have 1000s of variations of "Because it's be fun" which is essentially what my entry says. :)

Those permits depend on it being a "game of chance" or "game of skill" and the prize value. Amounts triggering the need for a permit vary by state.

Precisely the reason why AusBT would want to avoid the possibility of having to apply for 8 permits from 6 states and 2 territories!

A bit stingy?? now I've heard it all.. some people are never happy.

I should have said... great prize, going to cost me $500 in flights to accept the prize and what ever a leave pass costs from the wife :-)

Simple.. don't enter then! I would but have things on next weekend.. Positioning flights meh... comes with the prize. would be no different if it was for a Sydney flight.

Plenty of people are single so singular tickets means more opportunities.
