Did a quick google search and noted that Qantas open up Award bookings 353 days in advance.

Having made a few award bookings myself I know the routine of waiting for a precious award date to rollover so you can grab it!!

However just noticed something when making a booking last week that may help a few here on AFF (from where I have gained so much)

Let's say you want to make an award booking from Syd to Lax today. If you go on the QF website and make the award booking - it shows dates up to 8th July 2016 in black and dates after greyed out!

However if you click on "flexible with dates" it then shows available flights in J (not Y in this case) up to 14th July (359 days). I have seen some other routes with award bookings up to 360 days.

I had an award booking for the 7th July next year which I had diarised yesterday to book - however last week I went to do a dummy booking just to check the taxes and noted the 7th was already available some 359 days in advance. Interestingly it didn't ticket until yesterday though!

Anyway - this may be commonly known in which case mods please delete or hopefully I have been able to share something of value with the AFF community.

This works well for CX.
I didn't know it worked for QF too. Thanks!

This only works for carriers that release more than 353 days ahead - that is CX, BA, QR, IB, RJ, AB, AY, and UL. It does not work for QF.
