just tried calling Qantas customer service who weren't sure what i was even talking about... and the flight booking page still says "~subject to approval" if trying to make a booking for a HND flight... even though i suspect that is not updated as often as the actual page which lists the flights still awaiting approval.. is there an easy and more accurate way to find out?

It's further down that page but I am still researching ...

Something here but maybe not the be all ...

Qantas approved for Haneda services

THE International Air Services Commission has issued a formal determination which allocates seven weekly frequencies on the Japan route to Qantas to serve Haneda Airport.
Qantas has requested a five year allocation on the route, which will be fully utilised from 31 Dec 2015. The allocation represents the total amount of capacity available to any Australian designated airline to serve Haneda Airport under the Australia-Japan air services arrangements.

thanks heaps for doing that bit of research. we talked about that article you pulled up earlier in this thread already . hopefully we see something in writing soon
Scratch that ... I am sure there's more hurdles to be cleared yet ...

I sent Qantas a message on twitter and this is what I got. "Hi Sean, these flights are no longer subject to approval: Thanks, Pearl"
