It's high time I distributed some of the Express Cards I have stashed away here - but of course we are all aware that there is no such thing as a free lunch right? Similarly - there is no such thing as a free Express Card!

So in order earn the right to receive above Express Cards in 20 words or less please answer following question:

In the entire history of commercial aviation in Australia which dodgy, devious and rabble rousing individual has caused the greatest degree of drunken mayhem and pandemonium resulting in their swift and deserved eviction from MEL QF F Lounge and what penalty / sanction do they rightfully deserve?

a) JessicaTam
b) blackcat20
c) Ansett

Competition closes midnight April 18 - or when you have consumed your 3 thimbles full of alcohol - whichever is sooner.

Im flying SQ to LHR and back to bris, so wouldn't mind 1 or 2 if possible if these help at all for these destinations. I don't think I am entitled to any of my own accord as a VA gold.

in the spirit of the comp Ill pick Jessica and blackcat20...girls and bubbles, need I say more? though the pandemonium of Ansett with the 70+ page post gets honourable mention.

mc - love your work - 2 x Dep and 2 x Arr if you desire? PM me your name and address and they will be sent out.

The Express Cards are express on dep and arr at Australian port - not valid at inter ports.

C) Ansett
PENALTY - A Scoot economy return flight to anywhere but considering circumstances a prepaid meals & 4 free drinks each for each 90minutes of flight time LOL ;)

LOL!

Is there an option d) All of the above?

Hmm now the penalty phase, how about a trip on Jet* including F lounge access but no alcohol permitted.

On a serious note I don't think the arrival cards are used anymore. Certainly no priority line when I flew into MEL recently and the QFi FA asked if I had SmartGate passport. When I replied yes she advised me that the priority card would be of no use.

However, Emirates still issues one but there isn't any benefit and I'm using it as a bookmark.

SB - clearly a winner - how many you want?

Hvr - SQ still handing them to ALL F and J pax - yes they are still of use.

Smart gate is quicker, which ultimately beds the question, " what happens when all or most have chip enabled passports"? Will a new "Priority" or Aussie passport lane emerge?

Jessica Tam is someone who quells disturbances. Black cat (AFAIK) is too demure and sweet to make a fuss so without knowing anything about Ansett. I choose C

Thanks heaps CE :)

PM'd you my details

Absolutely awesome fun way to share them out !!!

If you cannot use Smart Gate they will still direct you to lane closest to Smart Gates at MEL - saw some SQ pax using them 2 weeks ago - no idea other OZ ports

I used the priority lane arriving into SYD the other day as I did not use Smartgate.

And FWIW I was advised that Smartgate will be available to certain foreign passports soon. Your guess is as good as mine on definition of soon and which foreign passports.

Didn't they close down the express path inbound in Sydney? Or was there too much outrage?

I must admit, arriving on QF2 on a number of occasions the passes couldn't be used as the baggage hall was gridlocked anyway. I've got 10 QF arrival passes in my travel wallet.

It's such a disappointment arriving into inefficient SYD after travelling to some of the world's best and most efficient airports...

Express path was indeed reopened. Surprised me a bit as well to see that a couple of weeks ago.
Doesn't change the fact SYD airport is one of the worst in the "first world".

Somewhat OT but they already allow NZ, UK, US & SG e-passport holders to use smartgate permanently and Swiss e-passport holders can use it on a trial basis.

It is my hope that they don't open up the proverbial doors to countries with large volumes of passengers (such as China) as this would just overpopulated the increasingly busy Smartgate lines..

I was told by the immigration officer that Smart gate for departures at Sydney commences July 1st:)
