RSA MEL F Lounge Qantas Official Response (Refused Drinks)

you will never get it....I know this because you twist everything that I say to suit your agenda, and I suspect that this is the reason that Qantas hasn't responded to you....a quick phone call is all it takes to sort these things out, but even I would be reluctant to respond to you...don't feel sorry for me as I am happily married (35 years) and have a happy life...and have never been kicked out of a Qantas lounge.

IF you actually bothered to read the thread, you would be aware of the following:

1. A quick phone call didn't sort out the issue.
2. None of the people who have posted about this issue have actually been kicked out of a Qantas lounge

So it seems like you're the one making things up again.

ring them yourself..

Why. Precisely what would that achieve? The discrepancies in your story would still exist if they tell me the exact same thing. I'm happy to accept that you've correctly relayed the words. But the problem is that those very words say that self service is not available at all times regardless of your experience of always being then when it's available. You're lucky. Well done.

In any case this reference to self service is nothing but distraction, smoke and mirrors. The existence of self service simply does not remove the obligation to apply RSA to the service of alcohol, remember we are talking about table service by a waiter. I would suggest your feeling that the story doesn't make sense because of the self service booze results from your lack of understanding of the RSA requirements rather than a problem with the OP's story.

Btw my mum has called me supercilious. I'm rather proud of that.... Not my fault I am superior.

ok...here's the thing....have you ever been divorced, or known some one who has ?....2 stories is what you will get...his and hers...and yet according to you, both must be telling the whole truth ...go figure ? Same with the Palestinians and the Israelis ?...both versions are true according to your theory....but the real truth is actually somewhere in between.

Also easy to be superior when I've actually read the thread. Qantas' story has been provided. If you tried reading you might know this minor little problem for your ongoing ramblings about 2 sides of the story.

I am sorry that you do not understand the concept of two sides to the story. Clearly from now on I must accept everything that a member might write as being the unbiased and balanced, and accept that any one who is criticised is clearly deserving of it,no questions asked. What a fool I have been to think that all humans see the world differently. Clearly there is only the right ,and the wrong perception. Sorry for my crazy rambling and my inability to go back through 60 pages of diatribe .

If it's not too much trouble could a mod update the title of this thread when/if QF actually come back with an official response? Thanks.

If it's 60 pages of diatribe, why bother even posting here ?

Oi ! There's only one supercilious person here, and that's me! By comparison, everyone else is just cilious  .

Yes, quite right...let us not worry about the substance and just criticise me for posting (at all)...this is how we solve issues. (really ?)...Personally I think any further speculation on this issue is about as useful as freckle on a zebra, until we hear any updates from a Qantas rep. But ,go your hardest.

I don't think it's criticism at all, but a genuine question. ... So the real question is, why now?

Let's see if it can get to a thousand entries....it is going nowhere but doing it quickly.

Tested the rules again on this in MEL F Lounge on Monday. QF to AKL. Arrived at the lounge, and had many drinks in the time we were there. I even tried changing things up, went from Champagne to coughtails and then to spirits. Had 7 drinks before our flight was called, over a time of 1:40. This also included 20 minutes in the day spa.

We didn't even have to ask for drinks, they just kept coming as we were quietly talking and hammering our emails.

Sorry RSA is not a thing in this lounge.

When someone directly quotes a written response there is little reason to say it's biased. Even when a member proves a report of a verbal conversation they might have had over the telephone I'm willing to accept that as well. Perhaps I should adopt you're standard and completely ignore your report of your telephone conversation. In which case, I guess we better go back to your self service claims and say there is two sides to every story until we hear from qantas directly your claim is biased and unbalanced.

I didn't criticize you at all....

In my (approximately 12) MEL F lounge experiences, sometimes self-serve wine has been available, and sometimes it has not (I know, because I have looked for it when service has been slow and I know where they put it because I have availed myself of it once or twice when it has been available).

Did they help you to the plane afterwards? :)

Splutter - but! That just can't be true! :) Some-one here has called Qantas and has been told that its always available  . You, serfty and all the others who have reported 'not available sometimes' are all in it together, right? ;)

Oh dear... Missed a few pages of fun until someone must've finally gone to bed.

Some of us (well, okay, maybe just me) are still subscribed to the thread as we'd like to know the outcome and official response from QF: I've got a potential upcoming visit to the F Lounge, which is a very rare occasion for me and I'd like to know what I should expect in regard to treatment by the Lounge staff and whether I should expect to be RSA'd after a few glasses of alcoholic drinks.

What's all the cacophony about self-serve va no self-serve anyway?
