Does anyone know what the earn rate is if one uses this card for ATO/government agency payments?

I did a small ato payment, no points were credited, had a look at their conditions, it seems that they are excluding them.

That's interesting. I think most of us were expecting this to pay based on some old comments.

Oh no I am stressed now. I put heaps on there last month. I will be checking my statement as soon as I get home. It definitely worked last year

Sorry, have Citi bought out Westpac now?
I was under the impression the "signature" thing meant it was a citi run card like citis own signature and the investec signature. Both of those 2 you cannot get ATO points do I just assumed this card was going to end up the same way. Gladly be corrected as I'm after one aswell

Westpac own St George. Disappointing but not surprising they won't pay points on ATO for this card given they don't pay points on Earth/Altitude MC anymore and only half rate for their companion Amex cards.

Yes, good point I guess since they are owned by Westpac it was only a matter of time. I'll have to nervously wait for my statement

IT could be covered under point 7.2 , no goverment charges

This question has come up many times, strictly tax is definitely NOT a government charge. Tax has very specific legal meanings, charge is anything a government charges (including a fee to access a service). As a general principle also banks have not used this clause but have changed to specifically change the T&Cs.

I've had the card approved, made a spend, so now waiting for points. I have to say my St. George experience, especially at the branch has been pretty awful. Separately, a BankWest deal I missed the fine print and didn't get points as I'd already transacted with them. I know the banks and card providers are being a bit more cagey these days.

I have to agree. My branch experience too was rather underwhelming.

i just had another look at my statement and it does appear i was credited for the ATO payment,

the confusion for me was that St George does not credit 1 for 1 on points, so at first glance it looked like i was missing them,

so i am now a bit happier.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

For those considering this card, particularly on an 'earn & burn' basis for the 60k points, WBC (St. George's Parent) is currently running an in-house (unadvertised) First Year Free deal on their Altitude Qantas Black product - with very similar specs.
I signed up this week - all it took was a call into the call centre and a mention of the deal and it was straight into the sign-up process. Within 10 minutes the approval email was in my inbox. Easiext 60k ever...

I feel a Westpac call coming on! I've had accounts with them, but not a credit card. I am finding the banks being more "snarky" about excluding the bonus points if there has been a previous card/account (sometimes within a certain period).
