I retained QF Gold...I think

Nothing like a multitude of conflicting information :shock:

My membership year is 28 Feb, currently have 520 SC's

Logged into my QF Qantas web site today and in the "Your Account" page it shows an overlaid grey/black screen showing "You've retained Gold" at the "Your Status Credits" section, so I clicked on the cross to have it disappear and to then look at my new information. But it still shows:

Then to further really confuse me, the mornings mail gives me a new QFF Gold card with a Feb 2016 renewal, so they had made the decision some time ago...

Looks like the right hand and the left hand aren't on the same page...or does the status credits section only "roll-over" automatically on 28 Feb - or will it have taken some weekend processing and it will change today?

Am I the only one to have these issues?

That said though, this is why I still have a love affair with QF.
My membership year ends Jul 15, I have attained PS, but keep SG till 16.
Personally I try not to muse about it too hard/much.

Here's where you might have a problem when QFF jump the gun on giving you a Gold renewal.

Two years ago Mrs Browski needed another 120 SCs to retain gold. On the last day of her membersip year she took 3 flights (MEL-SIN-KUL-DXB) which allowed her to renew her Gold status. However when I logged into her QFF account, I noticed they had gifted her the Gold Status renewal anyway.............even though we didn't need it.
Last year Mrs Browski failed by 90 SCs to renew Gold. I contaced QFF and asked if they would "comp" my wife another year of Gold. She replied this was not possible because QFF had "comped" my wife the previous year. I countered that "Yes, you comped my wife that year, but you shouldn't have done so since my wife had achieved the renewal under her own steam". The reply was "Too bad".

So, what I'm saying QF WP, is that if you actually achieve the 80SCs before Feb 28, then I would be contacting QFF and request that they remove their complimentary gift to you..............just in case you need it next year.

Congrats on that. I saw the same thing a few days ago (I'm also Feb) but the letter hasn't yet arrived.

It's intriguing, as I had noted in my recent post above, I had already received my "gold" renewal courtesy of QFF previously. I had (in other years) re-qualed like Mrs Browski in the last week .....

There is no chance I'll get 80 SC's in the next 2 weeks (no flights planned) so I'll take whatever I get given - as I had resigned myself to dropping status on both FF programs this year.

I'm sitting on 450 SC with QF, what's the lowest people are getting comped on?

80 SC here. Although the previous year was 1040 and would have been a soft landing from WP anyway so I suspect that had more to do with it.

Also wonder if the linked debit mastercard has something to do with it? So people aren't caught out if their card expires/they drop status?

MrP reached WP on the weekend but all we can see is that he has Lifetime silver with 13317 status credits. Soon he wont have to worry about requalifying for Gold.
