The Subs were a promise to SA?
Apparently that might have been another 3 votes at the last spill or perhaps the next spill.
I don't understand why this government is so hell bent on outsourcing everything to other countries. Isn't manufacturing things in this country value adding to make more money in this country and perhaps aid companies to become exporters.

"Putrid right wing diatribe".

Alan Jones commanded the show and was devastating. Made Chris Bowen look like the amateur he is. Chris did not have a single response to his facts and figures. The sandalistas at the ABC wont make the mistake of inviting AJ onto the show again.

By "commanded" you must mean was given 50% of the airtime to show his extreme right-wing bias. The most ridiculous quote of the night went to the parrot - "It's incumbent on us all to support the PM, whomever the PM might be". Yeah right. This from the gutless scumbag who advocated dumping Julia Gillard out to sea in a chaff bag, and made the disgusting comment that her father had died of shame.

So you're a fan? Why am I not surprised ....

He actually said that??? They may have changed his medication.

This is the type of cough the morons on Fox news say when an Republican is president of the USA but when a democrat holds the office, all bets are off.

Day 2 of good government and we have the submarine fiasco.

And Tony's mate, Kevin ("Competitive Evaluation Process") Andrews, "I will use the words I choose to use", on the matter of the Submarines, and messing with Humpty Dumpty's ...

“When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less.’*

For Kevin Andrews that was as close to erudite as it gets. After all - he was the genius who gave us this quote :-

"I believe the team of Tony Abbott and Julie Gillard is the best leadership team for the Liberal Party and therefore part of the best leadership team of the Coalition for the country"

From the mouths of babes ... sorry ... adults!

I have rarely been up close to an MP who looks more like a politician than Kevin Andrews. Not sure I can put my finger on just why, but almost seems like he is wearing a mask.

Mind you, if they are going to convince us that they want to consult more, Kevin could turn left at the top of the escaltor at MEL QF lounge, instead of right into the "enclave", which is where I almost trod on his toes (he was too quick for me). Then he might hear what the slightly less privileged think (guess most pollies could be urged to do the same). Heaven forbid that he, or us, should have to sit with the hordes at the departure gate.

Heather Ridout was invisible as CEO of the AIG. Never ran a business herself but claims to know what business wants. I guess that makes her like most of today's pollies...

Oh - and if you're still here you may want to read the back page of today's AFR to brush up on your knowledge of Ms Ridout. She is far more qualified than the parrot to speak on national economic issues, but you knew that ... didn't you?

I don't subscribe to the AFR - used to be a good publication but now stained with the evergrowing green Fairfax slime.

Her bio from Wikipedia states:

She is a member of several policy-setting and advice-giving groups including Skills Australia.
She was a member of the Henry Tax ReviewShe chaired the Productivity and Prosperity Advisory Panel of the Population Strategy Task Force.
She is Director of the Australian Super Trustee Board and the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth.
She is member of the board of the Climate Change Authority.
She an Ambassador of the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation.

Looks like a tax payer funded lifer to me buddy, just like almost ever other federal politician currently in Oz.

Has she ever worked in the private sector? Has she ever run a business? On Q&A her thoughts on national economic issues were not substantive at all.

Alan Jones produced figures, none of which were disputed by the other panellists. The two pollies on the show were made look like the poor professional politicians they were.

Let's not bring Obama and his record into the debate because this thread will never end... :D

Now it's "extreme right wing bias"? :D:oops:

AJ was against CSG, proposing super funding of infrastructure, and elimination of superannuation tax breaks. The 90% green audience were actually clapping him. Tony Jones looked like he'd walked into an alternate universe.

I agree AJ's comments regarding Gillard's father weren't appropriate at all, but all politicians have abuse and vitriol directed at them. If you can't stand the heat, you better stay out of the kitchen.

Personally, I find comments offensive that relate to committing violence against other people of the sort that Alan Jones et al used, especially that targeted at Gillard. To say that that sort of "abuse and vitriol" is simply 'heat in the kitchen' is also offensive.

A better article on the economy from Fairfax-
Budget may never get back to surplus, says Joe Hockey.

Obvious that very few journos take the time to read about the submarine project. It was always unlikely that SA would get the whole project.

The Greens held the balance of power in the senate from 2010 to 2013. I should have said the ‘ALP-Greens coalition’ could have introduced tough measures but failed to do so.

That is not a coalition. Simply false conclusion of yours. Greens modified or blocked alp legislation. Again the alp did not control the senate.

So much for fixing the budget in 12 months. Hockey admits he lied. At least he can own his mistakes.

So what are your thoughts on the abuse of Tony Abbott?

Some of the stuff about his daughters is particularly disgusting. Go to the actual Facebook pages or Twitter accounts and have a read.
