I just went checking HH T&Cs and I note it states they are effective from 2 January 2015.

The T&Cs I was searching seem to differ from my recollection, so I thought I might just ask the brains trust here on AFF.

My recollection was that on reward stays, folio charges (F&B, services etc) would accrue points even although the "pay" component (if any) would not accrue but the reward would still count toward the "stays" and "nights" tally.

A recent one of mine (out of 6 stays since 2/1/15) has recorded 0 points (plenty of eligible spend) and 0 stays and 0 nights, despite the others processing as expected, so I went hunting the T&Cs to reread.

I was surprised to find these inclusions under "Accrual of Points" and I have bolded the text, of which I was previously unaware.......
3. A "stay" is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again. Specifically excluded from the definition of "stay" are the following types of ineligible stays: wholesale/tour operator packages; contracted crew rates; travel agency discount rates, packages exclusively for casino player card holders; Team Member Travel rates, Hilton Family Travel Rates; stays secured utilizing Hilton Grand Vacations Club and Hilton Club timeshare programs, Hilton Grand Vacations marketing packages with a sales presentation requirement; complimentary or barter rooms; Reward Stays (as defined herein); NET Group rates; Series Group or IT Group rates; contracted Entertainment or Encore rates; third party websites bookings (irrespective of rate paid); and "opaque" channel bookings where the brand may or may not be known at the time of purchase. HHonors Points (or stay credit) may not be earned (including as a My Way benefit) for or during ineligible stays, including without limitation, folio charges incurred during ineligible stays. If at least one night of the Member's stay is consumed with the use of HHonors Rewards Points, the entire stay is considered a "Reward Stay" and no HHonors Points may be earned, except that if Member is using Room Upgrade Rewards, any money spent on the original reservation will earn points and/or miles consistent with these Terms. Participating hotel will determine whether incidental charges incurred during either of those stays are eligible for points, except that Points will not be earned for incidental charges at Hampton Inn®, Hampton Inn & Suites®, Homewood Suites by Hilton®, and Home2 Suites by Hilton®.

and

8. The term "eligible folio charges" for Hilton®, Conrad® Hotels and Resorts, Curio - A Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton™ Embassy Suites®, Hilton Garden Inn®, Hilton Grand Vacations® and Waldorf Astoria* hotels shall mean: room rate, food and beverage, telephone, laundry, pay-per-view movies, entertainment and recreational facilities, and other incidental charges charged to the Member's room during the Member's stay. Dining room or other charges not billed to a Member's room during a stay are not eligible for credit. Such hotels within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio may omit for purposes of point accrual, incidental charges by non-affiliated hotel entities which are not owned and/or operated by the hotel including, but not limited to, food and beverage outlets, gift shop, drugstore, clothes, gallery or specialty stores, recreational or entertainment concessions. The term "eligible folio charges" for Hampton Inn®, Hampton Inn & Suites®, Home2 Suites by Hilton®, and Homewood Suites by Hilton® hotels mean room rate only. Charges in connection with banquets or other catering functions are not considered "eligible folio charges" for purposes of point accrual, with the exception of points earned from qualifying meetings or events through the Hilton HHonors Event Planner and the Event Bonus Programs. Folio charges incurred during an ineligible stay are not considered "eligible folio charges."

So I ask, are these new terms and if not, how many AFFers have found their folio charges deemed "ineligible" and by which hotels? I'm usually a paid guest and our recent holiday was the first time I've ever used reward stays with Hilton, so I'm not making judgement just yet as to whether my memory is incorrect about the folio charges accruing, I'm just seeking your experiences (especially since 2/1/15).

Those clauses are not new ... in recent years it's been a YMMV situation on getting incidental points on award stays.

OK thanks. I must admit, I thought everybody got them consistently. I must be getting more forgetful.

Very confusing. This copy paste from the same T&C's looks as though you should earn points on eligible charges on Reward stays as well as having the stays/nights count for Tier purposes

"14. Members will not earn points or miles for Reward Stays or hotel stays redeemed with a Marketing Partner's discount/free certificate (e.g. frequent flyer award or travel award), unless otherwise stated on the certificate. But if a Member is using Room Upgrade Rewards, any money spent on the original reservation will earn points consistent with these Terms. Members may earn points (not miles) for incidental charges at a hotel within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio during a Reward Stay, provided such charges are deemed eligible folio charges at Hilton®, Conrad® Hotels and Resorts, Curio - A Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton™, Embassy Suites®, Hilton Garden Inn®, Hilton Grand Vacations®, and the Waldorf Astoria hotels. Members will not earn points for incidental charges during a Reward Stay at a Hampton Inn®, Hampton Inn & Suites®, Home2 Suites by Hilton® or Homewood Suites by Hilton® hotel. Members will not earn points for incidental charges during hotel stays redeemed with a Marketing Partner's discount/free certificate unless otherwise stated on the certificate. For purposes of counting stays and nights for Elite tier qualification (as explained below), Reward Stays will count towards the number of overall stays and nights."

Based on this I'd be ringing the Diamond desk and having this followed up.

I remember you have been to Conrad Maldives recently. When I stayed there I had issues getting all the points. I didn't look at the T&Cs, instead I called the diamond desk and insisted to get points for every $ spent there (including seaplane). It wasn't easy and I had to talk to a few supervisors but in the end I got them all. My advise is always to call and try, especially if it's a big amount, you have nothing to loose.

Just email. I've only ever done well via email, never lost outl

Thank you all. This is why I love AFF over FT.

I've read and digested all the suggestions and I've decide to give them the 10 days they suggest should be allowed for points to show. (It's been 7 at the moment)

The fact that points, stays and nights have all credited as zero suggest it's not just a point issue so I'll wait for a bit.

I do however. appreciate the replies as I was a bit "on edge" this morning as boomy was correct in his assumption and the points are in excess of 160k (mix of base and bonus), so I'd really, really like the points ;)

But hey...........It's all Monopoly money anyway.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

When I stayed at CM last year on HH pts, I got HH points for all incidentals incl. seaplane fares automatically. ..must have been very lucky:)
