ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Re: Credit cards and FF points for ATO transactions

Westpac Platinum Kris Flyer (no longer taking applications) and Woolworths Platinum Qantas everyday rewards CC appears to be changing around March 1st. ANZ black Amex is working.
All Australian Citibank cards are gone.
Bankwest Platinum has worked but new card earn rates may have been lowered.

BankWest Qantas World should still be okay.

Dianne as JohnM says it is mostly on the big thread he listed for you.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Cards that do not appear closed off include ANZ Black, Bankwest Platinum, HSBC, NAB Amex. Everything is fluid and some have new limits and lower earn rates now. I have only used the first two out of this list as I still have other cards that still work but are now not marketed.

Missed the one that currently has an unresolved financial planning scandal....hang on there might be more than one of those. If you go which bank that might help.
Do not use this listing as anything other than a starting point as YMMV applies to posts 4026 and 4027.

You can add CBA to the list too. Looks like the number of viable issuers is shrinking :(

Looks like I took too long to press send. Looks like you beat me to it cove.

Technical issues sorry about the double post.

FWIW check earn rates .... one is different from the others ;)

Top tier works best esp with double promo this month on MC assuming they don't copy Westpac with black last year & selectively not honor it.

Just wondering, for all those "bad cards" that don't earn points on ATO, do they still earn points on other government charges such as council rates, utility bill, land tax...etc? Most of these only accept Visa/MC, so I am looking to get a Visa/MC with good earn rate. Citibank signature visa or Virgin High Flyer seem pretty good but if they don't earn points on rates/utilities....etc, it's pointless (no pun intended;)).

Rates and utilities definitely not government charges and all indications are that land tax gets points too (until they just make the change one day).

Does anyone know if GE Money cards (eg Coles Rewards MasterCard) pay points on ATO?
I'm starting to think if it's too hard earning FF points, at the very least a cashback in terms of 'free' shopping at Coles would be worthwhile.
2 Flybuys points per dollar ... each $1000 of tax paid would cost $4.80 in fees, but earn $10 Flybuys Dollars so a good return.

The Coles MasterCard (with rewards) does. (Last ATO payment on December 12 got points, as did the previous year's payment.) The only problem is they're Flybuys points, but I guess they're still better than nothing.;)

FlyBuy points are close to useless so don't spend too many micro seconds working on them with ATO.
We have done pointy end flights ever since js started this thread so thank you js.
