How do you get this offer on an existing card? The T&C say for new card holders only... did you just call up to cancel and they offered it to you?

Yes, I've had this offered to me a few times when cancelling card (though not the specific ones we're talking about here).

Card and PIN finally arrived whilst I was away on FIFO swing. Just in time to lump new term school fees on it and hit the spend required. Will see how long it takes for points to arrive.

Wasn't a hard process to get the card, but the lack of communication as to where my application was at, are slightly disappointing... but not earth shatteringly so.

...and we have another winner: 51,500 points credited on Christmas Day. Thanks to the OP for sharing, and happy 2015 to all the AFF harvesters!

Mission accomplished:mrgreen:....100K in bank. May end up keeping ANZ Black as mentioned previously. Need to negotiate the $425 annual fee though....
Just noted the sign up up promo is now (only) 25K pts and first year free.

If you click the "APPLY NOW" green button on that page you are sent to a page that advises the promotion period has ended. :(

Yes, got 2 x 50,000 points and one lot of 50,000 waiting to be swept across... Then will try for the 25,000 one but a 0% interest offer could also be interesting...

And what was that about a couple of Qantas Club passes to give away??? :)

Finally, my 50k points posted on 3 January after fulfilling the spend criteria back in August. Was already getting nervous, now all good to cancel.

Called ANZ balance transfer team on 1800 007 511 and asked if any balance transfer deal was available to me as an existing customer. The CSR asked if I was willing to sign up for a new card, on declining that he immediately offered me 16 month 0% BT.

Even better, my Veda score has started to recover after the 4 card hammering.

How much was it hammered by your 4 applications and how far apart were they?

Don't want to kill mine but don't want it to stop me from applying for stuff.

All applications were in the same month and it cost me about 200 Veda points.

Thanks for the heads up :) Wonder how long will take to recover 200 points.

Quick Update: ANZ processed BT yesterday and the money is now available on my Citibank card. Excellent deal to extend my 0% 6 month Citibank BT. :)

Just cancelled my ANZ card after getting the 50k points in last month.
I didn't specifically say I was cancelling because all I was in it for was for the points but they didn't sound to happy and pressured me to keep the card saying it would help my credit rating.
I simply mentioned that if I had less liabilities in relation to the credit card limit it would actually help my ability to acquire other loans.
Thanks ANZ now the 6 month counter starts until I'll apply for another one of these big point offers!

I don't quite see how keeping it would help ones credit rating...

That seems to be an urban myth that the banks are spreading (heard that spiel every time I wanted to or did cancel a card), that any change of credit card, be it applying for a new one or closing an old one, goes onto your records. It's rubbish, if you don't need the card, cancel it and close the account.
