Hi

Has anyone had recent success with calling the Platinum Customer line and getting a classic award seat released in J.

Looking to go to Bangkok in March, paying for one seat and classic award for the other but nothing really available.

Any info is appreciated.

I recently got them to release a J seat in December on BNE-HKG during the busier travel season, so it's definitely doable. Obviously you'll have to pay the award assistance fee.

I have almost 100% success rate, it actually seems to have got better instead of worse. I usually check loadings on EF before trying though.

Called platinum help line today and after about 15 min with the agent 2 classic award seats were released on QF metal after she consulted the yield analyst!

Very happy customer.

Any chance this might work for a SG member?

No - only the premium desk has the ability to do it. You can only speak to the premium desk if you are platinum or above.

You've done well getting 2 business class seats on the SYD-BKK flight. Always seems to be full in business.

A couple of months ago I managed to get a business class seat released on the last HKG-SYD flight for the season on A380.

Mine was waived because I was booking J class....

Last week I asked for a J seat ADL-MEL and was knocked back. I bought a revenue Y fare and put in for an upgrade. It was approved 6 days before departure.
