Hi all,

Can anyone advise whether there is any way to find out which aircraft has been allocated to an upcoming flight.

If anyone does have the info I'm on QF9 this coming Monday (15th)

Thanks

Not before the flight without having access to the airlines internal systems. You can sometimes work it out based on the seat map, but in this case it would be 1 of 12 possible aircraft with the same config. If you use tracking sites 1-2 days out, you can narrow it down by seeing where the aircraft that could operate that flight are.

Another that doesn't want to fly on NBW/OQA? :p
:)
I've been on OQA a few times after its extended stay at SIN. The first was at LHR about 6 weeks after its return, when I saw the rego, my thought was "OQA? fun :D"

As have I, didn't know until the captain filled in the details in my logbook. It honestly doesn't phase me, all the same on the inside... perhaps watched more closely than the others so even better, but I just figured that's what this thread was getting at.

Nothing wrong with it in November when I was sitting in 1A :D

Had NBW / OQA on last weeks (7th December) QF11 A380 service from SYD-LAX. Interesting coincidence the Captain on my flight was David Evans who was one of the Check & Training Captains on QF32 SIN-SYD flight out of Singapore....

With only 12 A380's in the fleet I'm sure he's onboard quite a bit? :p

I did read somewhere that QF have a complement of somewhere near 6-8 sets of tech crew per aircraft. Based on the 12 A380's this would equate to something like 72+ A380 Captains including Check / Training and Line Captains - not sure how accurate this is. This number may be a little low as QF originally intended to get more A380's than the 12 they have now. I'm sure JB would have more accurate numbers.
