Hi all

Staying in SF from Jan 30-Feb 3 before heading up to Tahoe - single room with 2 beds needed.

Looking for something around AU$250-300 per night inclusive of taxes etc, in either the financial district, Marina, or Fisherman's Wharf. Must have parking on site.

Any advice or recommendations welcome.

Cheers.

The Westin downtown is really nice

good views and well located should be in your price range

OP just reminds me I need to also book for SF, so will be watching this thread.

I normally stay at the Parc55. Usually well priced, clean and large rooms. Location is right next to Powell St Bart station - so easy access to SFO via BART. Also close to Union Sq, Market Street Trolley and Cable Car.

Parc55 is where MsChooms and I stayed in October. Just as Blackswan says, well priced, clean and large rooms. Location is excellent as you are right in the middle for everything. There is a fantastic Italian restaurant up the street (although a bit pricey) and is also close to Chinatown.

Did get a little ghetto-y of a night time on the streets around it, but we felt the same pretty much everywhere in San Fran of a night time.

I would avoid Fishermans Wharf for accom. You only want to spend a little time doing the touristy thing there, not your whole stay.

In the districts listed - I'd look at the Le Meridien SF at the edge of Chinatown & The Financial District.

Put me down as another one who couldn't think of a worse area to stay then Fisherman's Wharf.

Thanks all.

We ended up getting a good deal @ Radisson F/Wharf.

We will be so busy for our three days in SF that this will merely be a place to sleep. Most of our friends in SF live around North Beach/Russian Hill so this will make for easy cab rides after dinners/drinks.

I have stayed in the Financial District the past three years, so happy to mix it up a bit!
