New J Seats Not Being Fitted Into A380

I actually really like the F seats on the A380. I think they did a really good job on designing those but had ran out of ideas when it came to the J cabin.

Agree. I really enjoyed my upgraded SYD-DXB sector.

I also agree that EK tends to too much bling. The gold and especially the fake walnut finish on the plastic components is not a favourite of mine.
However, QF is a little too minimal for my taste and the only criticism I would make of the F cabin on the A380 is that the finishes were very plain and looking a bit tired and scuffed.
I think very plain finishes can sometimes be more vulnerable to visible wear and tear.

Isn't it going to be strange when we all want the 333 product over the 388... How bizarre.
Not all; I'm quite happy with skybed Mk I or II ... sleep really well on them.

Some of the other references here I find rather cramped, or flimsy (waves to BA).

i imagine its a signal of where the fleet planning is going to go long term - much smaller aircraft / 0 superjumbos in the fleet

Until they get a lot of 787-9s in the fleet (the only A330 sized aircraft with the range to make MEL-LAX/DFW-SYD type flights), they are going to need A380/777 sized aircraft.

They'll have to keep a few for South America, South Africa, Captains Choice and Exclusive Brethren charters ;)

Plus the recently signed 20-yr A380 lease in LAX

Does QF still own their cargo and hangers at SFO, or were they sold when QF moved out?

Actually, none of them look very wide. The only photos I've seen with people in them are of AJ and some female model, neither of whom are particularly large.

23-24in wide is pretty good, and applies to nearly all int J/C seat types and seat manufacturers that make them, across most airlines
