CX The wing F lounge breakfast

Having only ever been in hkg's The Wing F lounge for lunch or dinner I have an upcoming trip about 8:30am what is breakfast like there?

Is it just buffet or like qf F lounge with made to order breakfast?

It's both - there is a sizeable buffet and also a menu with a number of choices made to order such as eggs benedict etc.

I usually have both

Edit to add: 8.30am is quite a busy time there....

Thank you! Looks like I'll enjoy then my flight leaves at 8:30am so I'll be at the lounge by 6am.

The Al la carte has sadly gone downhill through this year.. QF F Lounge fare runs rings around them..hopefully they've lifted their game, the eggs benedict used to be rather good.

I'm on CX846 in F next year which departs at 18:45 so I'm thinking to hit the lounge early (never been there before) for a lunch and a good cabana nap before boarding. How is the lunch there at The Wing ? Pretty decent ? And how early am I able to check in ?

You can do intown check-in up to 24 hours in advance and head to the airport whenever you like.

Personally I don't rate The Haven in terms of decor or a la carte food. It's ok but no where near the QF F Lounges. The food in the new QF Lounge is better I think.

I normally check-in 2 1/2 hours before, yes lunch and dinner is pretty good, with a large buffet and a rotating made to order menu.
The best I had there was Pappardelle pasta with cream/white wine sauce with added truffle.. It was delicious and good to try truffle even if it was just a few shavings.

There's alot of F lounges in HKG isn't there ? I've heard of the Wing, The Haven, The Bridge, The Pier, and maybe others ? Which of these is supposed to be the best one or are they all approx the same the difference being they are located in different areas/terminals of the airport ? Do they all have those pure class cabanas or is that just The Wing ?

The Haven is the name of the restaurant in The Wing.

It is IMO the best of the CX Lounges and the only one with Cabanas

I love the Wing - in fact in some ways I like it better than TPR in SIN - have never been into QF F Lounge in HKG but it must be good if it is better than the Wing F.

When I saw you commented on this thread, before I read your comment, I thought to myself to ask you how The Wing compares to TPR in SIN. Good to know it compares favourably. TPR is only for Suites pax isn't it so probably by default alot smaller than The Wing ?

There is no QF F lounge in HKG anymore, and a rather crowded (however nice looking) but otherwise underwhelming for a Plat, the Wing is the place to be!

I'm aware there's no F Lounge, I'm referring to the food in the new QF Lounge which I think is better and served in a nicer space than The Wing.

Put the Cabanas in the QF Lounge, serve Champagne instead of sparkling and that combo would be unbeatable IMO

Yes the food was good, the Barramundi I had in the QF lounge was very good, and I'm not normally a seafood person!

My wife just commented the other day that the food in the QF J lounge in HKG was much better than the Wing F. Im inclined to agree though i find that there is a lack of variety in the QF lounge...

The second item would be easy to fix too, as in the Finnair lounge in HEL Schengen .. on production of appropriate BP, they pour the good stuff produced from an out-of-general-reach fridge!

The breakfast we had the other week was superb. Best lounge in HKG - IMO



Hard to beat the Peninsula service...
