Where to find what class my tix were booked into? Stiffed on points and SC's.

There is absolutely NO CAVEAT there and no exceptions indicated or a link to further exclusions.

To be honest I would considering taking this to the small claims tribunal, I really don't think QF would have a leg to stand on and it's frankly disgraceful that they think they can just get away with this.

If Red Roo was genuinely here to help QF customers rather than just act as a PR mouthpiece they would weigh in on this thread, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

It has nothing to do with the simpler and fairer changes as this has always been the case with QF codeshares on jetstar

Thanks for clarifying. I still think there is nothing simpler or fairer with the new system though, its almost like they are deliberately being sarcastic with that slogan.
As for small claims etc, I'm way too busy with running my business and looking after my family etc to bother. And to be honest I could care less about the points and status credits themselves.
But as a small business owner I don't like companies that mislead and QF's stance on this just annoys me.

I only found out we would not get them when they posted as 0. But now that I flown all sectors I cant seem to confirm what class it DID book into. My eticket doesnt say it, checkmytrip still has the PNR but it doesn't say and its not in MMB anymore. How on earth is the average flyer supposed to figure all of this out? The answer is obviously they aren't and I guess QF don't want them to. If that's no misleading I dont know what is.
I definitely feel you there.

You do realise they used the qantas website to book this, not the jetstar website? There are no starter or max headings on the qantas website. But thanks for the information. I'm sure it might be helpful to someone, one day.

Bzzt, sorry was talking about Qantas website (never been to Jetstar nor flown them for that matter). And looksie a Jetstar code share and it shows starter and max, though the starter and max are next to the Jetstar logo, rather than the column titles . Though it seems this does not apply if it is booked in conjunction with a (real) Qantas flight.

Screen shot attached.

That's not a code share, since the flight number is JQ3...

Thanks for everyone's input. The thing that really annoys me is that I am a careful and detail oriented person and I really thought we would earn points and status credits based on this Frequent Flyer - Flying Qantas and Partner Airlines - Flying with Partner Airlines - Earning Qantas Points where there is a tick indicating you can book the code share and the + next to that leads to the fine print at the bottom which states There is absolutely NO CAVEAT there and no exceptions indicated or a link to further exclusions. This is what I think is misleading as I relied on that given I already thought I knew that if booked as code share you got the bennies and that seemed to confirm it for me.

It could be clearer but it does say they will be at the Qantas rate. You then go to the Qantas rate table

Frequent Flyer - Flying Qantas & Partner Airlines - Flying with Qantas & Jetstar - Earning Qantas Points

and it says: * Qantas Points and Status Credits are not earned on Qantas Codeshare flights (ie with a QF flight number) operated by Jetstar Airline other than in booking classes of Y B H K or L (earn in L class is eligible only when travelling on a oneworld fare product)

Not relevant to this thread as it is a JQ flight number.

Here is the screenshot you are after if you book a QF flight number on a Jetstar operated flight.

True wrong wording, but it is a Jetstar flight on the Qantas website which was the point of contention.

Different scenario to the OP's. The bone of contention is that there is no way of finding out prior to booking from the QF website if QF codeshares on Jetstar will earn.

It shows you on the next page under a section titled IMPORTANT FARE INFORMATION, where it directs you to the earning table. Oh your screen shot is not what he was talking about either as it has a 3K flight number, the example was a QF flight number for the Jetstar flight.

Yup I know that is correct as that is what the supervisor told us. What we did was read the first page I linked to and then we went to the calculator for points and SC's and put in flying QF SIN-BKK in discount economy and it returned a certain number of points and status credits. I STILL have no idea what class the offending flight booked into as it was not designated anything other than economy or restricted economy on any booking confirmation I have. Even if I had found the other page as per your link how would I have been able to check if it was an "eligible booking class" other than by using some 3rd party script which only people on this forum would know about? It seems to me that QF are hiding behind fare bucket exclusions without allowing the customer a reasonable opportunity to check said fare bucket before or even after making the purchasing decision!

Might help if you researched a QF flight option connecting to a QF codeshare on jetstar. Maybe try MEL-BKK. Then post the screenshot with starter and max.

It shows you on the next page under a section titled IMPORTANT FARE INFORMATION, where it directs you to the earning table. Oh your screen shot is not what he was talking about either as it has a 3K flight number, the example was a QF flight number for the Jetstar flight.

There is no starter or max listed contrary to your claim.

What was that - bzzt?

My last thoughts on this.. and then I will stop banging on about it.

With the QF move to reduce their international flights and force you on to partner airlines via codeshares surely this is going to happen more and more often. Customer rings call centre - "Why didn't I get the points? I booked with QF!" Customer Service Rep: "Sorry Sir/Madam, that's an ineligible fare class.. " Customer: "Huh? A what? How come?..Where do I find the fare class?"

End result, QF gets the $ from the code share but doesn't have to give points and status credits to the customer. And in many cases, the customer receives an inferior product (eg 3K, JQ) while paying QF prices. Win/Win for QF, lose/lose for the customer.

The end result, customers stops booking with QF and looks elsewhere...

QF are you listening?

Same thing .....with a twist.

I wished to buy an upgradeable multi city fare SYD-PEN -BNE via SIN, which cannot be done via the QF website using the multi city option. Only Sale and Full Flex avail.

Booked by phone and booking fee waived as they agreed it could not be done online.

The operator booked all flights and verbally confirmed SC earn, which also included the J* legs, @ 110 SC's.

So even with a QF operator completing the booking I still missed out.

It was over 7 years ago when I got dudded for this very reason on the HNL-MEL flight I referred to earlier. Mine was worse as it was a new service and when I booked (March 2007) there was not exclusion so listed;l the T&C's had been amended by the time I reavelled in June. I maybe should have pursued the matter - these day I would have.

Since then I have never flown on a QF codeshare on JQ metal ....

My point exactly. And perhaps you would have if you had got what you thought you would/deserved.

Sorry I uploaded the wrong screen shot.

There is still nothing on the next page you are referring to that confirms whether or not the Jetstar fare earns or not. Nothing. The wording of could or may doesn't confirm anything and the concerns of the OP are still valid.
