Hi all,

Not a biggy but just looking for a quick answer from the wise sages here before taking this to the frequent flyer centre.

On Sunday I flew QF842 (SYD-DRW) and then QF369 (DRW-DIL) on a ticket that was bought as fully flexible Y (it was actually cheaper as a fully flexible ticket than as a Red E Deal Y ticket...go figure).

Anyway, points and SC have posted today with the QF842 sector posting as discount Y (20SC) and QF369 posting as Y (40SC). My question is that given I purchased the ticket as fully flexible Y should I not receive fully flexible Y SC on both sectors (ie 40 each)?

Thanks is advance.

First question to ask - was the booking "fare bucket" actually "Y" for each segment.

Fully flexible can also be "B" and "H" as well - both will earn as "Discount" Economy on international QF flight numbers (<400).

The issue seems to be the domestic sector, where the earning is more generous.

Sounds like you should be right. Any economy ticket in the Y, B, H, K, M, L or V fare buckets earns 40SCs for SYD-DRW.

I just had a look and it has been booked into the S bucket; this is despite at time of booking it said this booking will earn a WP member 160SC. It was on that basis that I went ahead with the booking. False advertising?

Sounds dodgy. Did you screenshot the page showing 160SCs?

I made a booking recently that told me I would earn more points than I think I will under 'Simpler and Fairer'. I took a screenshot to argue the case after the flights.

I have had wrong SC total's come up on multi dom destination flights since the SC total shows up when you book. Its wrong and they need to fix it.

Is this a new feature?

For some reason I don't recall seeing the SCs mentioned anywhere when I book. Perhaps I am not paying attention.

This is from the final booking page, having paid. It also appears on the flight confirmation page.

I screenshotted a page recently after a booking that advertised the wrong earn... not sure if I'll call them on it when it eventually posts (I'll only get 800 points by right).

Important to note is when you made the booking?
Mar 14 or Apr 14.
I made some bookings in chronogical order, but some were pre Apr 14 bookings, I have had made up differences of QF FF points and SCs many times since 01 Jul 14.
Some at old earn rates, some at new earn rates.
All depends on when bookings were made, not really when flown.

Interesting. I don't remember seeing that screen before. I use vouchers and some screens (such as confirmation screen) are skipped.

Must pay attention next time I make a booking.

John, the sequence that I usually see is: Select > Check > Book > Pay. It shows up on the "Check" page after you have selected your flights from the options provided.

This got resolved today. I sent a PM to Red Roo on Monday night and yesterday got a reply to say that it was being forwarded to the Frequent Flyer team and that they would be in touch shortly. It was also a nice touch to find that Red Roo (at least one of them) has a name!.

Today I got a call from Andrew at the Frequent Flyer centre to say that the QF website was at times showing incorrect points and SC's that could be earned in the summary before a booking takes place and as such were happy to honour what I thought I would have earned for those flights that I took. I was credited the extra SC's and points not long after the phone call.

Towards the end he also mentioned that if I got near to my anniversary and it looked like I mightn't get enough SC's to re-qualify for WP this year to give them a call and they would be happy to talk about comping me to WP again for another year based on my history.

Well done QF, Red Roo and Andrew...happy camper here.
