A few months ago, Blackcat20 mentioned that she had a few spare days in the US, and would I like to drop in for a little AA status run. As I was on leave then it didn't take much to be convinced. So I jumped on the 'net to look for a way to get to IAH from MEL.

Of course* the first flight I booked was TG BKK-MXP in F. Then I just had to fit some more adventures in around it.

A quick précis of my 24 flights and 4 train trips:

MEL-KUL-BKK-MXP

Train from MXP-FLR-FCO

FCO-IAD-IAH-BDA-LAX-JFK~ and then to MXP again

Train from MXP-VIE-PRG

PRG-IST-KUL-MEL

I haven't worried about posting all the transit airports, just the places I will leave the airport.

I am especially looking forward to the TG flight, and pre-flight experience. I have also managed to secure upper deck J on the new LH 747-800 from FCO-IAD. And just to remind me how the other half live, I have a flight in Y from JFK-MXP with DL - with no alliance status I am thankful for PriorityPass for a lounge stop in JFK before leaving.

The train trip from MXP-VIE is overnight in a single berth cabin. And it gets in at a reasonable hour too - so no stupid o'clock arrival for me. There are large savings from booking train tickets in EU 3 months in advance, so it is all in business or premium economy for not much more that the listed economy prices.

Accommodation is predominately Hiltons as I had built up a fair cache of points over the last couple of years. In KUL, IAH and PRG I am staying in two properties to boost the stay count for requalification. Three stays (FLR, BDA and JFK) are with AirBnB either in a place to myself, or my own bedroom in a shared house/apartment.

This trip has been heavily planned as with the number of flights and short stays, I wanted to have accommodation sorted. I will be cherry-picking the touristy things in most cities, but I will still allow myself time to just wander and people watch.

I am very excited to be visiting the east coast of the USA for the first time, and to be able to try the new AA A321T transcon in F (thanks Blackcat20)

The AA run is not the most SC efficient, but I am happy with the return. This trip will tick me over to WP once more, as well as LTS.

The fun begins on the 15th with a visit to the MEL F lounge before boarding my JQ flight to SIN.

Lastly, I promise there will be lots of photos.

Edit: I nearly forgot. I have yet to book my flights home from KUL as I am hoping to snag a LM SQ J seat from SIN at T-14.

* If you need to ask why, I could never make you understand

~ To be precise, the AA run is IAH-DFW-MIA-BDA/BDA-JFK-LAX/LAX-BOS-JFK

LOL! Why fly direct when you can connect?

An interesting trip...quite a mix of travelling experiences

There are a couple of legs in the there that are pretty long, could you not have worked in a stopover on the EU to US legs. REK perhaps?

Where is Boomy when you need him - I flew TG BKK-ZRH on old 350 I think - F was very VERY ordinary - but FRA-BKK on 380 was fabulous - if it is same as 380 you are in for a treat.
Well I do know it is not an A350.

If all else fails I have 8 hours in the BKK lounges to 'prepare' me for the flight.

340 is it Tom? I possess little knowledge of such matters - I just know it was an old mother.

Check-in, ready for another terrific TR!

Have a wonderful and safe trip.
