Hi Guys

If I'm on QF21 landing at 6.20am , am i safe to book the 7.40am JQ Japan to Sapporo , can't believe JAL have stopped running this morning service and am forced on the death star, does the curse ever end!!!!

thats cutting it a bit fine, especially with JQ being strict on boarding times

We are on QF21 next year and have opted to take the evening JAL flight to Sapporo and spend the day in Tokyo shopping and sightseeing.
Don't forget that if you fly Oneworld you can purchase a JAL Yosoko fare for only 10,800 yen one way.

(I wouldn't risk the connection time as you'll have to collect your luggage and then check in again for the domestic flight)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

normally QF21landing soon after the airport open at 6:00am.
in my experience it takes 40min for immigration and customs clearance.
Jetstar close check in 30min before scheduled time (7:10am)
If you can select next flight to Sapporo around 10:00 it will be no frustration when delaying arrival.

You would better to assign your seat of QF21 as front as possible to reach immigration avoiding long processing time.

Good Luck!

Agree that QF21 tends to run early.
But think it might be a bit too tight.

Other option I would recommend is to take the Limo bus to Haneda (about Y2000=A$20) and probably no more than 90min early in the morning, and the much greater choices on JL from there.
Would think the 1030 flight is easily made.

As an added benefit the HND-CTS flights have JAL Domestic First available as well from Y25000 depending on dates, if you want a really nice flight experience.

I wouldn't risk it. Immigration can be quite busy in the morning when the airport opens as a number of long haul flights arrive in the first 30 minutes. I've had times off QF21 where it's taken almost an hour to get out into the arrivals hall.
The NRT T2 domestic check in area is also quite busy with lines forming for check in before QF21 even arrives and the desks don't open until ~7am.
If I was arriving on QF21, I would not get the first GK flight to CTS. Between immigration, customs and recheck to GK, it's just too tight.

Get a 3-4 hour connection and head over to HND. Direct bus options, limited through train options on Keisei Access Express (some trains may require a change at Aoto)

Book the Y seat and at check in ask of you can pay to upgrade to J/F. It is usually quite cheap and the ticket is adjusted to show the new class so you get SCs and points for the new class of travel.
