Just had a misconnect thanks to Frankfurt strike. Travelling on a usdm award ticket.

What should we do now?

Currently in Paris connecting to Frankfurt, Atlanta and then Houston. The Frankfurt Atlanta flight has already departed.

I have expert flyer subscription, and also appears there is air Canada availability as an alternative. No star alliance status.

Assuming it's a single ticket I imagine you would be protected. Talk to the operating carrier staff.

USDM won't have access to star alliance inventory anymore. If they have to re-ticket, it would be on *O carriers (or a couple of their remaining partners).

Yep protected, Lufthansa are saying they've put us on a new flight, and pushed it through to usdm, but usdm are saying they can't see the updated booking and so can't revalidate.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Assuming you are in the lounge, keep going back to LH until the issue is resolved.

Once you arrive at your destination - double check your onward ticket is still valid (if you have further flights).

It is common for the remainder of the ticket to be cancelled if you 'no show' for a segment, and USDM may not revalidate the ticket correctly beyond your next flight.

In that case, again liaise with LH to make it right.

Let us know how it goes.

Lufthansa ended up re-routing us with a direct FRA-IAH on an A380 instead of FRA-ATL on an A340 plus a connection so we ended up arriving at IAH 4 hours prior to original plan! so great end result.

the re-routing was booked on a D class ticket - should i try my luck and get it credited to SQ? j/k.

called USDM just now and they said the rest of the ticket is still valid, and they can't see any notes about a no show so sounds all fine.

thanks for the help mel-traveller, was a tense couple of hours yesterday, reassuring you can always get a quick response from the forum.
