I am planning on flying CPH-TXL in December on AB.
How can I tell in the AB online booking process if a fare will earn QF SCs?

(I realise any SCs will be Simpler and Fairer ...)

I've gone through booking to the Cc entry page, and can't see any sign of booking class ... Any help isgreatly appreciated!

I booked day before & went for the second cheapest option...(10euro more) only 5sc...

In terms of SCs, you don't get any more for picking the fare which is €5 more expensive. In my experience you will always get at least some SCs with airberlin but the points earn is abysmal and because CPH-TXL is under 250 miles, it only earns 5 SCs post-simplification. Not that great but better than nothing.

The quite simple and fair answer:
Flights under 250 Miles get 5 SC in Eco (except Y 10 SC).
Flights over 250 Miles get 10 SC in Eco (20 in Y). I am lucky as my routes are a little over 250 miles - so no changes at all.

Until a few months all fares got SCs except the hand luggage only fare, which booked into Z.
Then the screwed up the system, using booking class Z for normal - not so cheap - fares.
There is no chance to see the booking class. Even semi-flex fares book into Z. I booked once the slightly more expensive fare but got Z as well.
It would be simple and fair to make Z now milage earning as well - as it is not the el cheapo any more, but just be aware.

Status Recognition:
As Gold and Plat you get free seating, but you have to call AB to make the reservation (not possible online).
You get prio boarding and prio security, prio checkin.
As Gold and Plat you get lounge access, but no access to the "Exclusive Waiting Areas" which are light lounges. A little confusion with that, but you may consult the oneworld homepage to retreive the lounge locations.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Not true any more. There are Fly Classic fares that book into Z and you end up with nil SCs. Not to blame QF, AB did mess up the booking classes.

I was not aware of that. I've always earned SCs on AB, but then again I don't think I've had any flights book into Z class yet. Could I suggest sending feedback to Qantas? They probably have no idea that this is the case and may even considering changing this to reflect that Z is no longer deep discount.

Z is award premium economy on qantas aircraft. They may not even be aware that it isn't an award on Air Berlin.
