Sorry for a really basic question.

Is there any easy way to find when the cheapest flight dates are in a sale? Apart from just hunting and pecking?

Example - I'm looking at the Finnair sale that was recently linked. It claims return fares Brisbane to France are 'from $4960', but when I finally wade through the multi-city booking (required, apparently), it comes up as $6862 around my dates.

I'm a 1-fingered typist, so re-entering the dates/data is too slow for my remaining life expectancy.

So, any hints?

Cheers,

Brett

Yes. I meant to include that in my question. I was inside their specified dates.

They say "Travel between: 16.01.2015 - 31.10.2015" but that's all. Trying for Feb or May 2015 gave $2000 more than the "from" quoted. There's no obvious way to see cheaper dates, unlike other sites where you see a grid.

If AY publish all their fares, you can use ITA matrix.

You can also phone their Sydney office they are most helpful.
Read somewhere that if you are going J that the business class lounge in Helsinki was under renovation. Might want to check on this. Finnair will also do a combination Y and J class if that is of use to you.

It is often cheaper to fly Tuesday or Wednesday as they seem to have less passengers on those days.

They are renovating but Oneworld premium lounge is open and quite nice...
