Funny how Red Roo didn't announce this one. For what ever reason salad and airlines just don't mix.

I really enjoy the boxed breakfasts (especially having a big milk bottle for the cereal and/or tea instead of the fiddly one serve milk portions), so think this is a good move. Can't wait to try some of the dishes.

I also don't mind the breakfast boxes. I'm open to the idea of the dinner boxes so will reserve judgment until giving them a try

I assume there is still a tray service for the trans-con services? The Ausbt article only mentions short and medium haul flights

Had me on board at 'better salads'

Healthier food always welcome - and from the size of most frequent flyers I see - required!!

The hot option surely must be a winner in the airline race. It's the one thing that VA can't do, even if they try (from reports by those who seem to know about galley sizes and the like). Nice salads would be OK, but it'd be pretty hard for an airline to keep salads "nice" and I also doubt what I call a nice salad is similar to what they call a nice salad.
