Going to Auckland and have been allocated seat 1K there and same seat coming back. Has anyone been on the 773 to NZ & is the seat I have good or ??'able.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I believe access to the NZ lounge is on, so what can I expect ?

cheers

I like 7K for long haul as it is private. 1K is fine to AKL (as are any of them really, great hard product).

Don't expect much from the Lounges - fairly average.

I agree that 1K is fine. It is right beside the forward galley curtain so I wouldn't recommend it for long-haul ... something at least a few rows further back would be better. For a solo traveller any of the A or K seats would be the best.

I can't comment on the BNE NZ lounge but the SYD one is nothing to write home about. It's big so never really crowded but the food and wine selection isn't great IMHO. And there's no champagne... The NZ lounge in AKL isn't much better but, again, it's fine for what it is. I believe both the SYD and AKL lounges have been slated for upgrades along the lines of the new one at LAX.

As with any aircraft with a busy and rear forward galley/WCs it would be preferable to avoid the front and rear rows as there will be a considerable amount of foot traffic, noise and light. Somewhere towards the middle of the cabin will be preferable. Seating away from a bulkhead immediately in front will also give a greater sense of space.

Correct, they are both due to start later in the year and will take approx 6 months.

Considerable experience with both 1A/K and 7A/K and both are good - I prefer row 1 as there's a little more room to place stuff.

Light from the forward galley was never an issue in row 1 - also there is plenty of traffic through the gallery behind row 7.

Thank you to everyone that took the time to respond. Your experiences are warmly welcomed. I will stick with 1K on this occasion... was just a little concerned if that seat/row would have been chilly due to the location of the forward door/s.

Thanks again to all & I will try to get as many photos as possible, re: trip. :)

cheers

p.s. Looks like my flight is a sell-out.
