Thanks. I have the email as well but somehow didn't notice it.

Its a two night minimum, shows up normally.

Some really good prices for my September Thailand trip. I have not seen room rates this low for a long time.

Currently some very attractive rates throughout asia for most hotel chains inclusive of IHG. :D

In Thailand? Yes I wonder why, not. Cheap in Egypt too and probably in Kiev!

I did mention throughout asia.. Nothing wrong with Thailand at present. Sure also Egypt must also be an attractive proposition.. :D

It is OK. I know the reason for the stupid remark.

I was going to book the Holiday Inn Chiang Mai at ~2,400 baht/night including breakfast for 2 and now the executive room rate is ~2,700 baht/night. Same for Holiday Inn Pattaya where the current room rate is ~2,400 baht/night when just a few weeks ago it was ~3,300 baht/night.

I think the secret is to hold a refundable booking in a non-chain hotel and then wait for these type of specials.

Or ... hold flexible/refundable bookings in chain hotels ...

I can see how these could be useful for some but would be useless to me if sale doesn't happen.

I wasn't going to spend ~3300 baht/night before sale so flexible booiing at ~4000+ baht/night was definitely no go.

Usefull for many I would think, given most book a room because of a need to stay in a hotel, rather than a want.

I got this email too. Does anybody have a list of which hotels are on special? Or is it case of checking out each one individually?

The first email, triple point promo, The hotel list is easily found. However the second email 35% off special, I suppose its a case of look and see.

good luck

As usual this flies way over my head. There are all types of frequent travellers.

I need to stay in a hotel as well. I don't need to stay in an expensive hotel though.

This special brings back prices to double that of non chain hotels instead of triple.

CP and HI POM are there. What a surprise. First time I think I've seen a special there.

Silly me, I spoke too soon. I just did 4 dummy bookings at each hotel and no dates to be found! I tried both midweek and weekend across September for two night stays and nothing available on this special. I couldn't be bothered continuing to look as the Airways is my choice of hotel in POM. IHG miss out.....again.

From the searches I have done at other properties the special is fir 3 night minimum.
