Anyone has experience in Hilton Dishonouring their price beat guarantee? As long as you submit the claim, they will reject you for sure and then disappear. I had the following experience:
I booked on Hilton website for $320 + tax for a night accommodation (local currency). Then found on other website has $319.40 + tax, same date room type and condition.
Within 24 hours of submission, the reply is due to curreny fluctuation, the claim is not covered in the price beat guarantee!!!! How unbelievable is that even local currency has fluctuation!!!!! That is totally cheating as they will always dishonour your claim and when you reply, Hilton will then disappear forever without explanation,...........
Just wonder anyone has similar experience

I don't know if it would be worth the hassle of submitting a claim for a 60 cent price difference

Hilton well within their rights here. you are being ridiculous IMO

I'm sure your time is worth more than 60 cents!

For those whom had read the Price beat guarantee program would know finding a price cheaper than Hilton.com will entitle you US50 AMEX gift card for N/American arwa or USD50 equivalent voucher per claim.
please read before putting "rude word(s)" or any criticism here <redacted>

I've had a successful BRG with Hilton, was very simple. While they are much harder to deal with than SPG's, I think 60c is taking the proverbial, and probably due to currency fluctuation as they say.

Those that red the terms would also know they have not done anything wrong, no claim when difference is because:

  • Rate disparities due to fluctuations, rounding, or differences in the currency exchange rates.

I found that they they've always honoured my price beat guarantee claims. But, those $50USD Amex Gift Cards are a pain. They'll only send them to you after your stay, and you can't use them in Australia. It's also very difficult to use them online for US merchants. They will send you a cheque to Australia, but be prepared to spend many, many hours on the phone to their staff in an Indian call centre.

Recently used the price beat guarantee for the Conrad HK. Of all places, Qantas hotels was a fair bit cheaper. The extra $50 credit was just put towards the hotel price automatically. Was smooth and painless really.

Not a valid claim ilyth.

I've had two in the last month approved at HOTP and HSW. Quickly painless. Price difference $50+ not 60cents.

Do you really find it "unbelievable"? And three exclamation points?

The guarantee is intended to allow customers to book at hilton.com and get the cheapest price - not chase a few miserable cents here and there.

Would an offer thru the entertainment books accommodation portal be valid for a PMG? Had a relaxation suite stay at HSW booked thru that portal recently that would've earnt nice points.

I've had a lot of dealing with Hilton Rate Guarantee through StayAngel over the last few months where we essentially automate monitoring your new reservation to see if it matches the BRG policy and automatically submitting a request to the hotel on your behalf (taking out all the legwork and guesswork for you!).

To help other AFF members I put down this knowledge into a new thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....hhonors/hilton-best-rate-guarantee-61595.html

Unfortunately not

Was knocked back once because the rate on the booking site (can't remember which) automatically included taxes for Australians while the one on the Hilton website added the taxes later. Spoke to a woman in the states who was patient and went through it all (I sent her a list of screenshots to highlight) and processed it.

At the hotel itself (welcome to China) they had no AMEX Gift Cards and I'd paid upfront so they actually paid out the $50 difference in cash. I felt a little bad because my stay there was 2 nights and came to a total of $100 or something, but as it was an awesome stay I've been back 3-4 times now :)

My girlfriend at the time thought it was good because she just took it as spending money so I guess I didn't really come out ahead at all :p
