Qantas lounge at Queenstown Airport.

Surprised they didnt finish it in the off season.

I decided I wanted to know exactly where this is going, so had another read, and it appears it's upstairs (1st floor is above ground floor, unlike Australia where first floor tends to be ground floor - Australia is confusing) opposite the Air NZ lounge. This does mean it should have a nicer view, as they do mention a view of the Remarkables, however less of an airport view, so not great for plane spotters.

The lounge will be located on the first floor of the terminal building, replacing the existing Airport Administration office which will move into a new space on the ground floor next to baggage reclaim in mid-May.

The green box on the first floor is the ANZ lounge, for those not familiar. The yellow box are the toilets. I can't recall if they're actually outside the lounge, but the new QF lounge promises theirs to be inside the lounge. The grey box was presumably all the old administration offices, and all the new lounge.

If it's open on Thursday, I'll report back and let you know what it's like

In my experience it is the USA that called the ground floor the first floor.

We are flying with death star to AKL and were told unequivocally that unless we had an air NZ flight number on out booking we were no chance to gain lounge access.
Anyway the free Airport wifi is making things a little easier

Unfortunately it wasn't open. I had my fingers crossed it would be completed early

That will be a welcome addition. Last time we were there, no mention of any lounge access. And to make matters worse, just about to order a coffee and the fire alarm went off so everyone had to evacuate so I lost my place in the queue!

It's a bit weird that the daily flights started today... and the lounge is apparently not yet open.

I'm flying out on Sat 19/7... hurry up! :P

This is probably what they were building next to the NZ lounge when I was there last month. Hopefully the toilets are within the lounge unlike the Koru club.

The original press release seemed to indicate "dedicated bathrooms", so there should be.

Hopefully before 26th July so I can take advantage of it :).

Sadly not. The check in agent reckoned it was another 2 weeks away from being open.

We were accommodated in the NZ Koru lounge, which was very ordinary to say the least.

When we checked in on 19 July, we were told it wouldn't be open until 'late August'... and yes, the Koru Lounge is really... really unimpressive. Would it have killed them to have a bathroom inside the lounge?

ZQN is in fact a Regional Koru Lounge so nothing to get excited about, they all went down hill last year when NZ removed crockery, glasses, steel cutlery hot food etc. to be replaced by paper and plastic and package snacks, all for "consistency across the network" No regional lounge that I know of has toilets.

What are the 'light snacks' that are served in the Koru Lounge? Enough for a decent lunch?
