I'm scheduled to either arrive into SIN on 19/06 and depart for IST on 21/06 or arrive into SIN on 22/06 or 23/06 and depart for DXB on 25/06.

I choose to have a few days just to do the night tour, day tour and try and visit Universal Studios again.

Is it worthwhile to book a stopover holiday though SQ or just a standard room through Wotif (any recommendations for one person) or just head back to the airport and chill out in the lounge at nights and then head back out during the day.

Are you allowed to clear immigration a few times during transit?

If not possible, any recommendations for an easy and cheap stopover? Last time I did SIN I stayed 2 days at the Hard Rock Hotel just for Universal and saw nothing and cost me over $900 so looking at being more wise and smart this time around.

Gardens by the Bay is pretty cool, felt a bit like I was in the Avatar movie LOL

Night Safari is pretty fun as well.

I'd stay in the City somewhere just for convenience. I did stay at the Holiday Inn Express once on Orchard Road and thought that was good value.

On a previous trip I tried to re-enter Singapore twice on the same date. I was not permitted and advised only one entry per day.

Staying in Singapore city is better than airport.

You won't be able to enter airside without a BP, and won't be able to get one until 24hrs before your flight (if OLCI).

If I checkin online for SYD-SIN, will I be able to have my bags checked straight through to DXB when I drop them off or best to just checkin at the airport?

You can only check bags for flights on which you have BP.

a) Leave extra bags at SIN in Left Luggage service, or
b) Take to your SIN hotel.

My transit time is now only 21 hours so would it be wise to just get both BP when checking in at the airport?

They will probably do that anyway.

Then you have one less desk and staff interaction to have to locate

If the flights are on the one PNR then you should be able to have your bags checked through, and with your forward BP in hand you are also free to enjoy the sights of SIN. SIN airport operate free city tours if your transit is greater than 6 (?) hours.

Had a recent trip from Milan to Brisbane on a J Saver Redemption booking. The stopover was from 6.00am on a Tuesday to 12.30am on a Wednesday. Luggage was booked through to Brisbane from Milan.
Did not have a room booked and taxi driver suggested Ibis Belcoolen which was a great choice. Could check in around 7.15am and rate was around SG$165. Did not check out until about 8.30pm.
After a sleep in the morning found plenty to do around Bugis area until checkout. Did not venture away from the Bugis area.

I have stayed there a couple of times. Quite reasonable for the price.

Have just re read my post. I referred to my time is Singapore as a stopover. Should have used the term transit to be correct!

The rate for the Ibis was the Accor member rate which gave a 20% discount from memory.
