No American programs at all even though at least some of them don't charge fuel fines... Light weight article I guess...

Not really that surprising. AFF is not indicative of the travelling public.

That article lists BAEC... Why?
Australian based people can't even join BAEC, yet the article still recommends it?

The average Australia would probably try to earn points from everyday earn when it makes sense for them to do so, and then redeem multiple tickets in economy class for their family trip to a place far far away from the land down under. And when they find out they can't get their award tickets, they'll find out that they can get wollies vouchers or toasters. For those who don't fly much, this actually works out quite well. A friend of mine, she doesn't spend or fly very much, and she likes to take a small value voucher after almost every medium-haul flight and thinks of it like a rebate. It might sound a little silly to us, but when you're earning points very slowly, it's definitely a valid and sensible option.

The question then becomes how many of QFF 10 million members actually fly more then twice/year?

Who knows, on average each australian makes around two domestic interstate trips a year, with some 57M made last year.

Via SPG then? I'll have a look see.

Edit- Looks possible, with the standard extra 5k for 20k transfer. Best to wait for a bonus offer though I guess, if they ever have them.

They do have bonuses from time to time but it has been a couple of years now.
