Chef on call recomendations

Just looking at the Chef on Call menu,
Can anyone provide any recommendations for whats good and bad?
Will update with a meals review after our flights in a few weeks time.

Have flown mainly J, always found something to eat on the regular menu.
YMMV
If you are MH Platinum or flying F, you may order from the F Menu, which is better - the lobster is not bad apparently
Interestingly they seem to look after OW elites, you get asked for your preferences first (in the past 4 J legs).

Same here. Trying to get the regular inflight menu off MH though so can decide whether or not to book a special meal through COC.

Having flown MH a dozen times this year in J & F... onboard menus change a bit. Lobster definitely isn't bad. Onboard choices are usually quite good unless you're picky. In which case the chef on call differs as you've noticed by routes so you'd have to specify which one you're on. IME the system works 50/50, some flights it wouldn't let me use it, particularly connecting ones. Also sometimes my meal hasn't been loaded or they've found half way through eating something on the main menu. So can't say the system is polished but I find all the food is of a decent standard. KLIA platinum lounge menu is small but similarly decent.

If there's a specific meal you had in mind I can check for photos.

Prawn Brochette with Tomato Linguine
Omelette with cheddar cheese
Pan Fried Chicken with Paprika
Sautéed Tiger Prawns with Garlic
Sweet and Sour Snapper

Had the prawn pasta one I think, no bad memories of it. Think I got a lamb steak type dish? And had the omelette for breakfast and the ?raspberry? Pancakes maybe.

Had the fillet mignon and the lamb cutlet last month out of Syd. Steak was pretty good (perfectly cooked), lamb was a little fatty but still excellent, and the mushy peas were fantastic.

I'm doing SIN-KUL-MEL-KUL in MH J on a oneworld 280k award soon. What's the Chef on Call like for those flights?

I'm pretty sure I've at least had a couple of them, I'm currently on my way to Aus and with the HK lounge guys so if you give me a couple more days... I'll get to this. I'll look back through photos to jog my memory. May as well make this a good reference thread for MAS meals.

I'm guessing you're ex-KUL in F. Haven't tried the Omelette, I had the Waffle dish and it was surprisingly good. Not as good as pancakes I've had on QF F but still quite good. Their hotcakes ex-LAX or NRT, I forget, were terrible, but that was J
