Thanks everyone.
Will do more analysis after the 2 QFi trips over to NZ.
I find the longest thing, in the process is not so much the QF Seamless transfer bus, but immi/customs & the int security checks. Its the fact of the snake mate, its the snake, go through the C&BP bunting, and then left right left right left right left... er, right.
Ok, thats it for now.

But do check the prices of the multi-city and the normal booking because occasionally the multi-city prices are above the normal booking.
And sometimes they are cheaper and throw up better flight options. ;)

Really? Do people actually book tickets around their use of a lounge? I can think of better places to spend my time. Getting to my destination the quickest way possible and less time at a lousy airport is the best way to go for me.

I think you may be in the wrong place pal...

What would be the point in obtaining QFF status and then not using the benefits of that status? When traveling you have to spend time waiting somewhere, so why in an airport lounge?

Re: Not lot of time to use QP int lounge at Syd, if connecting flight is from Aust do

Actually, I do travel to use the lounge.
Aud$855 is expensive as it is, next time it comes up, I will renew under AFF. This one for the QFF side of things. VFF is a bit cheaper per year, but no international access unless flying VA's partner in J or F.
At least in the lounge, there are a bit less the number of people than outside.
And less kids too, inside than outside.

Re: Not lot of time to use QP int lounge at Syd, if connecting flight is from Aust do

I dont see airports as lousy or good, personally I see it as a learning experience.
Eg: the bum wash pipe at KLIA!!!
Not even SIN (Changi) has that!

Re: Not lot of time to use QP int lounge at Syd, if connecting flight is from Aust do

for or lounges, qantas should really offer the F lounge as a minimum standard for international business passengers.

And what should they offer to F or OWE pax then? There's nothing wrong with the QFi J Lounge.

there's nothing 'wrong' with QFi business lounges except they seem more akin to lounges for economy class passengers with status. I would expect champagne to be offered as standard for example given the huge prices people pay for QF J class tickets.

there might at least be a dedicated lounge, or section of the lounge for business class passengers... the same as they have done for domestic lounges, where the qantas club was not suitable. Thai airways has a dedicated 'business class only' lounge on concourse D at BKK which doesn't allow star gold access. SQ does the same at it's home port.

That is called a bidet shower or health faucet. It is common in Arab countries and some parts of the Muslim world, including Malaysia.

Some do. Here is a dilemma I have had recently and booked the flights last night.

I could have gone BNE-SYD-BKK on QF A330 and arrive in BKK at ~16:35.

Or BNE-SYD-HKG-BKK on QF 747 and RJ A330 and arrive in BKK at ~11:25pm.

Guess which I chose? Cost is almost identical as I used AA miles in business. Take note I can't play golf until next morning. ;)

I would have chosen the BNE-SYD-BKK without any hesitation. However you probably get more value out of the program than I would. My value is getting there the quickest way possible.

Those 7 hours in this case aren't that important to me.

With this itinerary I get ~4 hours in SYD instead of ~2.5 hours and dad can bring the golf clubs to SYD airport instead of me dragging them around from SYD-BNE 2 days earlier and then from/to apartment in BNE. A little extra time in SYD F lounge. Another lounge crawl in HKG and try out RJ.

Another lounge crawl in HKG and try out RJ.

make sure you eat before the RJ flight! It's a 'snack' flight now with three (very small, but tasty) open face sandwiches and a small pastry.

Re: Not lot of time to use QP int lounge at Syd, if connecting flight is from Aust do

I would have gone via HKG myself. Miles, miles, and more miles is what I need.

Thanks. I have ~3 hours transit in HKG. I will try to find something suitable to eat and drink.
