The FACE popup!

Hi. Great site.

Tried to log in today using my android cell phone but the video popup box (with a man's face) blocked the whole page. It moved and grew as I tried to scroll and zoom around it to log-in. Ultimately I disabled media on my page just to log-in.

I love posting when travelling, for example, in the lounge. I don't have much of a chance otherwise. This means that I will almost always access the site on my phone.

Is this a way to get people to use TapaTalk ? [Joking]

Anyway, thought I would raise it in case you didn't know this was happening.

I regularly casually (without logging in) visit the site to see 'What's New' and find the FACE off putting, and I suspect other casual users will too. I appreciate it disappears when you log in but there is a reason why pop up blockers were developed - to stop annoying pop ups !!

Yes, however, clicking in username box auto-zooms so the face grows to fill the screen.

Its manageable, but a little annoying.

I should add that I have no qualms with the message in the video, I agree with everything that is said and would encourage more participation, more views from more frequent flyers... But prefer this could be done without a popup.

I searched for something on AFF on the office PC and did not log in and this face was all over my reduced browser window. I had to increase browser size back to full page to be able to read the posts on the thread.

The face is driving me crazy today just trying to log in. Every time I click on the input fields chrome zooms and the face becomes huge blocking me.

AFF, please fix this. I'm sure your plea for lurkers to join the site is not intended to drive contributing members away.

Oh, logging in fixes this problem. Now I understand. Like others, I may quickly look in without always logging in.

That "man" is admin!

Its a new thing that was added last week, which only displays to people who are not logged in. Clicking on it takes you to a page with a video of admin explaining AFF.

It is possible to setup your browser so that you login automatically whenever you open AFF.

I'll ensure admin sees these comments.
