Etihad Airways has unveiled new luxury living space which will be made available on its A380 aircraft and will include a living room, separate double bedroom and ensuite shower room and use of a personal butler trained by the Savoy Butler Academy in London.
Branded as The Residence by Etihad and located on the upper deck of the Airbus superjumbo, the private cabins will accommodate up to two people and are described as “the world’s most luxurious living space in the air”.

How amazing to have a separate bedroom & living room whilst in the air!

It will be interesting to see over time if this 'Residence Apartment suite' takes off & if EK will follow suit & trump EY ?

lol well I am thinking that this could rapidly become a pissing contest........ I doubt that many of us will get to experience this sadly and yes I would love to if the opportunity arose :D

Speechless.. Wasn't expecting this.

I just hope the residences are available with VA and/or AA miles :)

Looks like EY is already blocking award seats on the A380 flights. Had a quick look at DEC/JAN... Same as QR at this stage..

Pissing contest indeed

I am dumbfounded. This has got to be the worst idea I have ever heard of. Etihad, this is just (plane) (sic) stupid.:mad:

Why? I'm sure there would have been much research & significant investment prior to embarking on a new 'comfort" level as specified.

Why ? you ask. 1st. It's a waste of valuable space that could be taken by fare paying F or J pax, some of whom find it hard to get seats as it stands now.
2nd. Islamic law frowns on single persons from associating in these circumstances. Hence, it would only be for married couples.

Do pax really need this sort of in-flight customizations. I believe not. As far as research goes, who did this research (eg: Richard Branson, "2 ways to get lucky") and what is the reasoning behind it ?

I can't see it getting of the ground

regards
JC

There will always be somebody with cash to spare.
Imagine Gina and Clive in there...... together

Amazing stuff. Would love to try it some day.

The lounge looks amazing too!

Wonder how they will make a profit flying first class passengers with so many square metres per first class passenger.

This looks like a game changer across all three cabins it looks to be fantastic and I can't wait to try it.....
