Hi, as per the thread title I have 20k points expiring in September. The most useful for me would be to pick up another 2k points somehow so that I could use them up on a return domestic VA flight (from Canberra).

i'm plat QFF and silver VA, so don't use Krisflyer to accumulate points anymore. In fact, I'm happy for my Krisflyer card to lapse but would like to save or use the points before that happens.

ive looked at a few closed threads with similar questions and there is some good info, but none quite answer my question. It appears I could go to the Cook Islands. I'm not sure exactly where that is or why I'd want to go there, but in any case I might run into the displeasure of SWMBO if I do a solo pleasure trip to an unknown pacific island. (I'm already away overseas often enough on work). But I could maybe justify a trip to Melbourne to watch a game of footy.

is there any way I can pick up 2000 Krisflyer points cheaply? (I'm also a bit of a tight****). Otherwise I guess I could book one way and try to get a cheapo fare on the return flight, which would at least burn 11000 points.

(sorry for another expiring points thread, but the forum did come up with a message encouraging me to ask a question or share a travel tale :)

You don't have Amex Membership Rewards to transfer to KrisFlyer?

Note you can purchase 2,000 KrisFlyer miles for USD80.

My cc program is Commbank Awards which doesn't have the option of converting to Krisflyer points as far as I can tell.

I wasn't aware of the purchase option. $US80 (or even $63) for 2k points is marginal in my case if cheapo fares are available, but could save me a few bucks at least. Thanks for the info.

may be get some other points that you use by swapping KF points via points.com! can PM options if interested!
