Am landing and likely have to go on to a meeting from the airport

Do I have access to any lounge to shower and freshen up when I arrive at Sydney Int'l?

T1 had landside public showers in some of the toilet blocks. BYO Towel and toiletries.

Check the SYD airport web site.

Thanks

No other provision for Business Class passenger arrivals? Thats pretty poor form if so

Does any airline offer arrivals lounge access in SYD INT? ( not including if you are transfering)
No arrivals lounge at any interntional airport terminal in Australia.
And worse for those airports where international is seperate from domestic

I've always thought arrivals access was a great benefit, though clearly it doesn't drive sales as much as I think or QF would have built one ages ago, but here's hoping it happens one day. They could sell access (to other airlines) like they do for departure lounges too.

Guess I've just been spoilt with virgin Atlantic at Heathrow

i actually have a flight from SYD to BNE later that morning which I now won't use - so is it acceptable to check in, use lounge, then advise lounge staff I won't be flying?

Alternatively, i will have to book a flight later that evening so if so could I access lounge 12 hrs prior to flight, leave and come back later?

If you have a boarding pass for that evening flight you are entitled to entry in the morning and again in the evening. The main "cost" will be the inconvenience of getting from T1 to T2.

If you're arriving on VA30, I'm reasonably sure that you'd have arrivals access to the domestic lounge based on your same-day arrival on VA30 without booking anything extra - see Virgin Australia's Airport Lounges | Virgin Australia:

Subject to space availability, Velocity Platinum and Gold members can access the Virgin Australia lounge on arrival with an eligible day of travel Virgin Australia or partner airline itinerary (or boarding pass).

As Fruitcake pointed out, the only cost is having to schlep from T1 to T2.

I see you are Velocity plat and coming in on a VA flight, in J also. As per VA domestic lounge access rules you are able to avail of the T2 facilities on arrivals, plus guest 3 other non flying guests.

Thanks everyone - last time I did this same route there was a free bus (after checkin) from T1 to T2 - assume I can use this....

Thats if you have a domestic connection BP. Normally I don't get charged, but YMMV.

VA use the public bus for this transfer - a tear off "voucher" on your cardboard boarding pass folder is your ticket.

Do you have luggage to consider?

Meeting cancelled so now travelling back to BNE after landing into SYD - problem resolved :)

Thanks for the advice guys
