5 hours transit in HKG with no lounge access - what to do?

Overall lacking in food options, for me that is what attracts me to a lounge and if I had to pay, I wouldn't come back here for that reason.

The limited options didn't excite me, so have had a snack at best.

The options are all around limited, there is only one no name beer in a can, and Carlsberg on tap, two beer and only two alcoholic options in the whole lounge.

There are three identical coffee machines in the lounge with identical snacks around, and one single place to get Asian type food - what is in the pictures are it regarding food.

Overall the lounge is relaxed and satisfactory, and guess it comes down to what someone is looking for in a paid lounge, as the peace and quiet is probably its one plus, but again lacks big time on the food front.

Ah yes I think HK have stopped 'stamping' passports, I was there a few months ago and got a small piece of paper stapled into my passport, which was removed when I left. So unless lining up is your thing, probably not worth it.
Is this from the frequent visitor channel? Can't you ask for a stamp in passport?

No, that's from the manned channels. They just print the slip of paper these days, and I doubt the stamps are around any more.

Great pics, thanks for those.

I hope that wasn't your Carlsberg under the tap!! :D

It was, Keg had run dry, and that was my first and only....... though I did sample the one and only canned beer they had as well which kinda made up for it.

To round out this thread my onwards BA26 was cancelled during my CX flight up ti HKG. So I spent 4 hours at the transit desk trying to get on another flight...hoping I get my compensation for the delay.

Thanks for the lounge review. I'm curious as to whether anyone can comment on the quality of the shower facilities?

Didn't see them and I did look. There were only only one standard toilet and two urinals for guys in the whole lounge which was rather lacking IMO. Might be there and need to ask for them or might be in the spa area that was the opposite direction from the check in counter.

Another questions re transit in Hong Kong....we are landing at 6am from LAX then flying through to Perth later at 3pm....will anything be open in the morning for us to leave the airport for a few hours? 4 adults and 2 kids (3 & 1 year old)...we have business from lax - Hong Kong then only 2 of us are in business to perth....will we all get into a lounge up there since we have arrived there after flying business?

I have had to kill hours with kids at HKG airport a few times now due to missing flights and I would recommend that you either go to T2 to the IMAX/ flying museum thing if your kids are into that and you don't want to leave the airport - 9 hours is a long time to hang at the airport with kids tho. You might be able to squeeze a trip to the cable car - just get a taxi, it is only 5 minutes away, but I don't think it starts until maybe 9am? My kids (8 and 11) love it - the glass bottom crystal cabins. There won't be much open early, but you could do a speedy trip into the city and back and go on the star ferry or go to one of the museums - space museum or science museum are good. Ice Skating in Elements shopping centre is also fun.

Thanks. Was hoping to find somewhere at HKG to take a shower before a flight to Europe. Perhaps one of the other lounges.
