Going to try something different. Flying into LAX on VX, so that's domestic ;) 3 hours prior to next departure.. HLO, will have to check in a TBIT. Would anyone feel that it is an insufficient time? The earlier flight is 2 hours earlier, so a bit too much waiting landside for me. Obviously delays do happen, will be separate PNR so I know the risks. Any comments welcome though.

Google says it's a 6 minute walk. And I'd tend to agree with that. What time does check in close ahead of your connecting flight?

Did this recently (terminal 4 to TB) with this timeframe (3 hour). Made it easily. This was in the morning tho. Ymmv.

I concur about the time - you could catch one of the busses but its hardly worth the trouble with HLO.

You should have plenty of time. Despite the presence of transfer buses all LAX terminals are within 10 minutes walking distance of each other (granted this may be too much of a hike for some locals... ;))
